Many Restaurants Defy Orders - Open For Indoor Dining

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office does not have any plans to issue a citation to the restaurant. A spokesperson said the office's focus continues to be awareness of the statewide order.

I can understand small business owners defying the various restrictions in a desperate effort to survive the pandemic.

What I can't understand is people putting themselves at risk to patronize them in ways that are believed to be unsafe.

It should be up to each of us to accept some personal responsibility for our own health and safety without the need for government intervention/enforcement.

If you want to show your support for a local business order some contactless takeout or delivery and be sure to include a generous tip for the delivery person.
 

Did you see the video of the restaurant owner in LA who was upset because the governor made her shut down her outdoor dining tent but allowed a movie company to set up an identical tent across the street for catering to a TV show crew. Hypocritical!!

I saw that.

The explanation offered was that the members of the movie crew had all been tested for covid as a condition of their employment.

Still very sad and frustrating for anyone that is watching their dreams and savings destroyed through no fault of their own.

A restaurant is high-expense business. Limiting operation to takeout or delivery won't keep it above water.

That’s what we’re doing.

When the restaurants were allowed to reopen with limitations, many chose to have shorter hours so they had fewer expenses. The numbers (waiting in cars) for pickup is amazing. Also the large amounts they’re ordering. Someone said they’d order extra to help the businesses.
