this is why. Was going to have a glass of ice water yesterday, and noticed a bit of rusty coloring in the cubes. I sent this photo to my son in law and he said that impeller should have been stainless steel. Just another way to cut corners I guess. Will have to replace the whole unit.

From, the pic, it looks like you have a rusted part. I agree with Ken N Tex most probably you need to replace the water filter, too. Well, Pappy, as a transplanted New Yorker, you know not to eat the yellow snow.
