Who Or What Wakes You Up In The Morning?

Doesn't matter what time I I go to bed or get up...I wake up every 4 hours for no particular reason. I know that means I'm not getting that all important REM sleep but I've lived this long so I'm not worried about it.
Same here, only sometimes it is only 3 hours or even less. There are some nights it is hard to go back to sleep.

I usually get around 7 or eight hours sleep and get up to use the bathroom a couple of times. Around 5am when it starts to get light, the cat is more active roaming around the house (if he's not in bed with me), but he doesn't make noise or meow, so he doesn't really wake me up.

On the rare occasion that my dog has a stomach issue, he sleeps in bed with us, and he's always on my side. He'll just quietly stand there at the foot of the bed staring at me. Being a mother hen like I am with my furkids, I sense it right away and get up to let him into the yard. When he's done, I bring him back in.

But a lot of times I wake up around 7am, light outside now, and start opening the front curtain, the dog is my shadow so it doesn't take long for him to get up, stretch and be ready for his morning potty break. I let him back in when he's done, and sometimes we both get back in bed and lay around for another hour or so. I don't think I've used an alarm clock since I retired.

No but I've been thinking of trying "something". How much (in mg.) is a good dose?

I'd be a completely different person if I slept ALL night.

Thanks! I shall try them.

My little Pom dog has a routine of pushing against me to wake me up, usually about daylight. I complain and tell her no and she will leave me be for a while longer. If I show the least amount of interest I immediately get doggie kisses and an invitation to play. That ends any hope of snoozing. I, too, have the "get up to pee" problem two or three times a night and it often seemed I could not get back to sleep afterwards. I discovered CBD gummies with Melatonin. I sleep longer, can get back to sleep after bathroom trips and I don't have that hungover feeling in the mornings that other sleeping aids seemed to cause.

Going to let my husband know about this supplement.

Thank you for the mention, Knight.

just wake up
Yup
that's me
no set time
whenever

then

I have what I call 'the 2nd sleep'

It rocks so hard, I seldom miss it

Whenever I get up, (of which is usually abnormally early)
I make coffee
Get on the web (here alot)
Fuss a bit with the budget
Do some writing (I'm a word butcher)

get re-sleepy

then

stumble back to bed.....sweet beddy bye

It's the only sleep that comes calling with complete consciousness
softly drifting...drifting into sweet sweet slumber
snort myself awake.....open one eye.....turn the pillow
drift back....waaaay back

......drooling a river

I highly recommend it

Wait.....

here it comes again

lay-Z-boy is tilted back

I've been fed

lights are off

TV is on (who cares)

I wake up and get up "when the spirit moves me." Sadly I have the obligatory trip (or trips) to the bathroom most nights but I assume that comes with the age.

Spent my whole career arising early, then, after retiring, the next dozen taking my grandson and grand-daughter to school but when that ended, my time is my own. My wife is an earlier riser but doesn't wake me unless there's a reason. If my time for going to bed and arising needs a set time, then I use the alarm clock (or my wife LOL). Other than that I do both whenever I feel the most comfortable.

I worked strange shifts most of my adult life, some things can only be done at 0-dark-thirty don't you know.
It haunts me to this day, I can wake up at 2am wide awake or sleep till 6, but it's never consistent. Many times it's a bad dream that wakes me.

Your husband & Nathan should not expect a miracle overnight. I don't know how long it took before I realized the difference. Give the natural a chance.

Sally wakes me up every morning at 7am. If I sleep even a few minutes past 7, she apparently thinks that I'm in medical distress and begins her own version of CPR, vigorous kneading of whichever body part she can easily reach...

My only question is, how does she know when it's 7aM?
