Isn't this lovely?

I would venture to guess these animals are pampered pooches.. and very well looked after.. As I said.. you can have your opinion.. just don't be so dramatic about it. These dogs are not injured or abused.

Idiots who treat their animals like that are mentally ill and abusive, imo!

I'm in complete agreement QuickSilver. Giving your dog a haircut and then using a vegetable dye to colour it isn't even close to being cruel. Those who are complaining here don't have a clue as to real cruelty. Do some research into animal abuse and then come back and compare this harmless bit of fun to real abuse! Go to the average farm, the average slaughterhouse, check out dog-meat markets in Korea and China or Google China fur farm videos and all of you will see cruelty.

Absolutely.. I am active with several animal cruelty groups. THIS is not even near in any way shape or form close to what real cruelty is. Some people need to get a grip and direct their ire where it really matters, and with animal issues that really are horrendous. This is harmless fun.. I think it's amusing.. and in NO way cruel.

My daughter has a dog that she dresses up in the winter and occasionally in the summer.

In winter, he wears a t-shirt and a fleece lined jacket with a hood and two pairs of dog boots. (sorry can't find a photo)
In summer on the really hot days, he wears sunglasses (called Doggles)

The tourists in Whistler love it when they see him and he gets the 'papparazi' treatment very often as a result.

People who dress up their dogs (or dye their fur) are folks who love their mutts. There generally isn't any mental illness going on, just love.
Hooch wears the Doggles on days when the sun is shining so bright that any one of us would be reaching for our sunglasses so she's protecting his eyes from sun damage in this. As for his boots and fleecy jacket with a t-shirt under, well try taking a 65 pound dog for a walk in -14 degree temps (that's 6.8 degrees for the American folks here) and having him curl up in a ball, crying because his feet hurt so much from the cold - and then you have to carry him home!

My little Murphy the Shorkie (Shih-Tzu Yorkie mix) has a leather Bomber Jacket.. complete with insignias. He's a cool dude! He also has a camouflage vest.. a sweater, and a hat. Since he is only 6 pounds.. he gets cold on walks. Poor little guy. I'll have to find a pic later..

Poor dog it looks ghastly!

Well, you're allowed your own opinion so don't dress your dog. But at least Hooches eyes are protected from UV rays when she has to take him out on those days when the sun is blinding. And the shirt (which adds to his 'cool' factor:D) protects his hair from being bleached out by the sun.

She also feeds him better than most dogs are. No crap supermarket food for him. No grain, only raw meat, eggs, sardines and veggies. She also comes home from work on her lunch hour to take him for a run and out to the dog park every weekend so that he can play with his friends. Like I said before, people who dress their dogs love their animals and lots go way 'above and beyond' for them. Absolutely no cruelty involved.

So you might not like the way it looks but ..... oh well.

Now I'm just waiting for a photo of Murphy in his bomber jacket QuickSilver.
