I just came across this old photo. My grandpa was a stationary engineer for an ice cream factory in New
York City.
They decorated the engine room for the holiday.
On the left hand side is an advertisement for Borden's ice cream featuring the Dionne quints.
Anyone remember them? I read where their life was like living under a microscope. engine room.JPG

I DO remember them! Poor dears...what an awful life that must have been!
 
A lovely old photo, Ruth!

I remember watching a documentary on the Dionne Quints.

One tidbit that will always stand-out for me is... "baby zoo".
 

What does seem a shame today is that, in many workplaces, it is politically incorrect to decorate like that anymore. There was a warmth to settings such as that depicted in the OP's photo, and that is now lost to time and politics.

@RadishRose ,I wasn't born until 1945 but my mom told me he would bring home a lot of fresh fruit that was prepared to go into the ice cream. Since he had to get a bus into the city from where they lived he packed it in dry ice to keep it cold. No fancy coolers back then. lol
