Adobe Flash Is Officially No More.

I wish I were more tech savvy.

I have not the slightest what Adobe was, what it did, or how it worked, or what it was even for.

Make way for new and better technology I guess.

i don't know.

last time i went into walmart here (over a year ago) the tv's are now HD5 or something so the new HD videos for them are all on the shelves. so i can't even get any new movies. it sucks.

A couple of the games I played free on sites are now offered in an html5 version which is not as good as the old flash, graphics not as pretty, doesn't offer the beat-the-clock feature; phooey. Guess I'm lucky that it only affected a coupla games.

Still have adobe flash for some things. Friend likes pac man (everyone to their own ) and it's still working. Had a message to say it would no longer support and to uninstall. Nothing happening at the moment, but think it might have been extended here to middle of January. :unsure:Will let you know.

I have movies but what I was getting at was I can't buy anything new now because I don't have the right equipment to watch them.
Oh yes of course. It's called planned obsolescence . You don't have a choice other than going along with it and buying new equipment.
Im still running Windows XP. I just refuse to play Microsoft's game.
I also have an I pad that I can't upgrade the operating system so there are new apps I can't use.
It's part of the game.

Well that and who can afford to constantly upgrade equipment? And then the other stuff I spent my hard earned money on will go to waste? I hate that.

That's what I heard. I play games a Lumosity and they have been slowly converting to HTML5, but the games I like best are still Flash dependent. I inquired and was informed that the games will be fully HTML5 by the middle of January. I don't know if that means they will discontinue some.

Adobe is a brand name; they have lots of programs. As I recall (it's been years since it was first announced), the issue with Adobe flash was that it was insecure.

Also, some web browsers will no longer support it, so there's that, too.

Another site I use (a book, dvd, and music cd swap site) uses Adobe's Acrobat Reader for the mailing forms we have to print up.
