Do you think it is worth it to try to look younger

After looking at all those celebs and their puffy faces, it's kinda scary really.

The thing that surprises me the most in that list .... Keith Richards has had plastic surgery?? .. where?
I think some of those did not have surgery; they have just not aged well. Unfortunately, aging is cruel to most of us; I often wonder when I look in the mirror "where did I go and who is that old woman wearing my clothes?"

Just remember, C'est, we're always our own worst critics. 🤗

I'm to blame, too, for being overly critical of myself.

There's no reason for anyone to go to extremes. Older women who let their hair color age naturally and wear just a touch of lipstick and maybe a little bit of makeup on their eyes - they're lovely. And as Nathan said, even more so if they're reasonably fit. A healthy appearance is very appealing. A friendly smile is always attractive.

Anyone remember Ruth Gordon? A pretty actress who didn't fight age.
Alfre Woodard is another one. I've always liked her.

Let's take Sandra Bullock for example...I think this woman had a natural beauty that I admired. Then she had surgery. Frankly I don't feel that it made her look better.

And now when I see her in movies she's beginning to look more and more like Michael Jackson if you ask me.
That was my exact immediate response, looking at the pictures before reading your post - she looks like Michael Jackson in the "after" picture.

I myself would never want to have surgery to make me look better. I am who I am and nothing would change that, even surgery.
It's sad to know how many choose to alter their appearance instead of embracing what nature gave them.

In my view it just goes to show how shallow, artificial, fake, and superficial this world has become.

To the original question:

Do you think it is worth it to try to look younger

...my response is that I think it is well worth it to those who have built an industry around selling there services to people vulnerable to that sales pitch.

As for me, I feel that we all age, so why go into denial?

I am 66. Will be 67 next month. I have grey hair, wrinkles and such. Coloring my hair, smoothing out my skin and anything else will NOT change the fact that I am 66 and will be 67 next month.

I had an aquaintance who was quite vain. She'd color her hair, and even shaved years off her age (she was mid 50's, said she was 49). Thing is she LOOKED mid 50's. She did not look bad or unattractive, but not 49. I used to joke that if you want people to tell you that you look good for your age, add years, do not subtract.

I'm one year younger than you @Marie... I don't have grey hair my hair is blonde.,.. and I have very few wrinkles for my age. Without surgery I can pass for someone in their late 50's or so I'm constantly told...

I've had a very hard life, and people often say that's what causes premature ageing, in that case I should look about a 105 ..:eek: but in my case I think I just inherited young looking genes from my parents...

Hmmmm...there is a song in that somewhere...

If I could afford it, I'd have a couple of small-ish things done. I'd love to get an eye lift so I don't look so tired all the time. Except for my eyes, I really don't have much in the way of wrinkles. Maybe I'd get my turkey-neck done, too.

Frankly, with the kind of money Donatella Versace has, I can't understand how she ended up looking like a 300-year old vampire in a Grade-B horror movie...…..
