How often do you wash your hands ?

Most people wash their hands before meals and after using the bathroom, how often do you wash yours ?

When you think of all the germs on lurking on surfaces, door handles, coins, banisters, it can get you a bit paranoid

I wash mine approx 10/12 times a day, how about you ?
At home I wash every time I use the bathroom (which is a lot), plus before meal prep and when coming home from running errands. At work I'm in food service so I'm ALWAYS washing. I'm surprised there is skin left on my hands.

I hope all of you folks who are frequent hand washers are TURNING THE WATER OFF WHILE YOU SCRUB RATHER THAN LETTING IT RUN FULL BLASTDOWN THE DRAIN!!! 😭

Water is going to one day be in short enough supply as it is without us letting it go down the drain unused and wasted!!! ;)(y)
Many places have automatic faucets.

A ridiculous amount of times per day. I keep saying I'm going to keep count but haven't so far. One morning though...I had washed my hands 10 times before even having breakfast and I usually eat breakfast by 7 - 7:30 a.m. I have to keep hand cream in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom otherwise my hands would get too chapped. A couple of years ago, I wasn't using hand cream often enough and my thumbs got so dry that they were cracking, painful and I could hardly do anything.
I have that hand-washing disease where I'm constantly washing my hands through the day, and often for the most trivial of things.

Winter months are the worst for me... cracked, raw, dry, even bleeding hands plague me no matter how much hand cream I use, and as for burning red hands, I remember those days from when my kids were in diapers.

Washing my hands after every change, and dunking those diapers up and down to rinse them in the cold toilet water.

I find that most lotions are not rich enough so once I found Nubian Heritage Mango Butter, I stuck with it. It's so thick that you can hold the bottle upside down and it won't come out, seriously. Sometimes at night I'll put shea butter balm on my hands. Two weeks ago, I went to my new podiatrist and he told me about a product called Healthy Feet and Healthy Hands which he says is really the same formula. I bought Healthy Feet. It's supposed to soften and heal but it has more ingredients than I'd like so I will only use on my feet as recommended by the doctor. Once it's gone, I won't buy any more since I don't see a difference between that and the Mango Butter. For me, making sure I put lotion on my hands after washing, except for when I'm about to handle food, has worked. I hope you find something that works for you.

You've given me a number of ideas, OneEyed, and I appreciate the mention of!

I've been lucky so far, as we've been enjoying a milder winter season than normal, so my hands have been good, but if the temp drops it will spell doom for me.

I dread chapped, cracked, and bleeding hands.
