Walgreens doesn't know how to enter Extra Help data

I received my new low-income rider for 2021. I went to walgreens to have them enter it into my profile because I don't want them to overcharge me on my meds. What the pharmacist did was take my ins card and say oh,all your info is the same as on your card(info in my profile). He didn't know what to do with the data on the paperwork. Their rote answer for everything they don't understand is to say that it's between you and you insurance. load of nonsense. I'm sure i am not the only person on medicare with extra help that goes to that pharmacy. probably messing over everyone else as well. I have to play musical pharmacies and go back to CVS. they know how to put the info into the system. never had a problem with it.. called the corporate customer svc for walgreens, they sent me thru 7 diff people and no one could help cuz they didn't know what to do. REALLY? the last csr i spoke to said let me connect you to your pharmacy. Uh,no. they are part of the problem and I hung up on her. Mind you ,no one ever called back to say yes,I can help you. Dead silence. I will not use their pharmacy again and I will be thrilled to transfer my prescriptions to CVS. Anyone else had this type of experience with a pharmacy chain?

I don't like the Walgreens here either. The employees don't seem to be on the same page, service was lousy and meds were more expensive.

We have a CVS but I've never used it. I go through our employee pharmacy. We have a B & K pharmacy but they are out of network and the customer service is lacking there as well. And don't even get me started about the pricing.

I like my CVS. I think each store has slight differences depending on the employees, but I'll agree that each link in the chain should be on board with basic operating procedures.

The pharmacist at the CVS near my son's house gave me my flu shot and he was an expert. I congratulated him on his expertise and he blushed all over the place. Young guy.

I just retired from Walgreens a few months ago and I, personally, have very little good to say about them. Since they merged with whoever it was in Europe-and then everyone else under the sun, they have gone downhill in a fast boat. It’s all about $$$ now and to hell with the customer. And don’t blame the local stores...blame corporate as they are the ones running the show.

Our Walgreens used to be Rite Aid until last year when Walgreens bought out Rite Aid. We never had trouble at Rite Aid.
