What is the weirdest thing a guest has ever done at your house?

While I wait to go for my vaccine I thought I'd pose this question.

For me it was the time I had a friend over and the first thing he did was open all the drawers and cabinets in my kitchen. Didn't ask just started opening and looking.

There's so many of them it's hard to choose😂 one man who came over
turned my stereo up real loud so it was blasting really loud. I think the strangest thing any man has done is to go in my bedroom and get in my bed and I called the police to get him out of there. I barely knew him and he just invited himself to my bed!

I had one of my sisters to come over to babysit....
In my bathroom I had poured a bottle of bubble bath from a broken plastic bottle that was leaking, into a empty peppermint schnapps bottle that I had ........ she attempted to drink some ......
I then realized ........first she had a drinking issue and ............second she would not be left alone with my son again.

After having a couple over for dinner, fed their dog the left overs in front of our dogs. Of course they asked first and I probably should have said no but didn’t.

When we had dinner at their house she reached across the table right in front of me while eating to feed her dog leftovers. The plate was almost right above mine and the dogs head was at table level. 🤢

In all the years I had little ones, I suffered one babysitter horror story, and one only.

I had hired a twenty-something sitter back in the late part of the 80's. Was just looking for a casual sitter for an occasional few hours here, a few hours there, and for an evening every now and then. Dear husband was out of town a fair bit in those days.

I had left her with the kids one early evening just after suppertime (her first stint at our house), and I had walked her though all that was expected of her... all of the things she needed to know... where everything was... where all of the baby needs were kept... etc, etc.

I arrived back home after being gone for a few hours, paid her, thanked her, and seen her out the door. All seemed in order, perfect and well, until I went in to use the bathroom. Rather than rinse and wring-out the dirty diapers she had changed while I was gone and put them into the plastic diaper pail where they belonged, babysitter dearest simply dropped them inside the bathtub.

Guess she wanted no part of rinsing out dirty diapers, so the bathtub served as the diaper pail that evening.

I was livid. Needless to say, that was her first, and last stint at our house.

Had a stray cat get into the house once. She went into a panic running around, breaking stuff and pulling down curtains. When I tried catching her she literally ran up the walls. Never saw a cat do that before. She finally streaked down into the cellar. I had to pull away the flap covering the window where she had gotten in and out she went. What a mess.

Did it bother you or were you so surprised that you couldn't say anything? Did you say anything?

Somebody asked for more cream in their coffee, then proceeded to help himself from the fridge remarking “Oh, let’s have a look at what you have in your fridge, you can tell a lot about a person going on the contents of their fridge”

I hope it told him he would never be invited to my home again, because he wasn’t !

When we first moved to our house, our neighbor introduced herself and said we should have tea sometime. I thought that was nice until a couple of days later she showed up at my door dangling ONE tea bag. She then proceeded to want a tour of the house, including opening closets. Right before she left she wanted to use our bathroom (which might not sound odd except she lives across the street...probably 50 feet). I am sure she was going through the drawers and cabinets in there. I have not let her in again.

I’ve had people help themselves to the fridge, look through cupboards, open doors to bedrooms and look through bathroom cupboards as well as push the shower curtain back to see how clean or unclean our bathtub is.
It’s feels like being interrogated.
What happened to boundaries or manners......... so sad that this is the common thing on this thread.

i was surprised. i asked him what he was doing cuz i don't like that crap and he told me he just likes to see what people keep in their kitchens. i wanted to ask him "so you don't have a kitchen?"

I had guests one time who asked if I had 1% milk for their coffee. No, I only had 2%. Oh, well.....sigh.....I guess we'll have to wait until you go to the store and get some 1%. Can't you use 2% just this time? Apparently not, because they didn't drink their coffee. Just one morning, would it have made THAT much difference? A spoonful or two of milk?

Different guests this time. My guestroom had twin beds, separated by a low dresser with a lamp on it. Guests came for one night, moved the dresser and pushed the beds together. They couldn't sleep four feet apart for one night? These weren't honeymooners, either.

1. Your guests were silly, not to mention not gracious, or caring for your needs
2. If they put the beds back, so what, but if they didn't read my 1.

I don't know about weird but one woman who visited threw my cat off a chair because she wanted to sit on it (there were other perfectly good chairs in the room). When she left, I didn't tell her that the back of her coat was covered in black hairs.
