I am in Canada

It might be impossible for me to avoid political comments because I am an American and think it is my duty to create a better reality through knowledge and action.

I am surprised religious discussion is allowed because when I was young I was taught it is bad manners to speak of religion or politics and I fully understand that reasoning. However, our democracy is the secular religion and I think when it is understood, it works better than other religions. Forgive me, but this defines my sense of life purpose, and I will try to accept the rules and stay out of trouble, but I can not promise I will always succeed in not saying what is important to me.

The majority of members here are also Americans, with a smattering of British, Canadians, Australians and others.. we all understand your feelings with regard to not being able to discuss politics, sometimes we forget and still do, but since we have had this rule here , implemented by the site owner and admin @Matrix , the forum has become a much less fractious place...

Fortunately there are other forum for political discussion... I hope you will still find this forum a little oasis of calm in an internet full of political maelstrom

You will find people here for the most part very welcoming and friendly...

Welcome, Miss Tilly! Love the name you chose as well. It makes me think of a sunny kitchen filled with good smells with the door propped open to a cottage garden.
