Do you believe in psychics ?

If the only REAL time is the ‘present moment,’ then how do they read your future?
If they’ve read your future and it’s not the direction you want to go, can it be changed?

How much free will do we really have?
If we put our faith in God/ LOVE/ universal laws, can this change our destiny?

What are your thoughts?
I find all this spooky ( scary ) stuff.

I don't believe people can read your future. I used to watch the John Edward show with my mom. She loved it. It was impressive, but I'm not 100% convinced he was doing what he said he was doing.

Not really, I've never been to one or called one. I know someone who thinks she is psychic but I don't think so as I don't believe in it. There are so many things people have in common and certain topics lead to certain answers and some things. I do believe close people can have spiritual connections, though, as at one time my mom and I did. We knew when one another was thinking of the other and then one of us would call to tell the other that. Well, there was a bit more to it than that.

I don't believe in psychics, but I do glance at my Horoscope on Google nearly every day. I get a bit of a chuckle from reading how those people can manipulate words such that there really isn't any concrete meaning to their statements. They seem to have mastered the art of "generalities"

Kind of like fortune cookies. 🤪

There are people who have the ability to know what will get to you, then manipulate you with that. Some know exactly what they are doing, some are a little bit off their nut and think they have special gifts. Can't put my trust in someone like that.

I have to believe in psychics because I am one. I have had premonitions mostly via dreams that I have not only documented on paper but told to family members, co-workers and/or friends which later came to be. In fact when I have dreams that seem precognitive, I have the urge to tell someone (or people) about them. I've had so many experiences that I couldn't post them all here. Some are as minor as knowing that someone (whom I hadn't heard from in months) was going to call me the instant I reached the top of the staircase (and he did) to predicting deaths. Two of the death predictions were not in dreams but via something I call "a knowing". I even did a reading over the phone. I had called this woman my DIL recommended and wound up reading her. She sounded like an older woman and I told her to be careful because someone was trying to kill her. I could "hear" her shock when I said it to her. She told me that a cousin had tried to kill her.

I found out in 1988 during an adult night school 8 week metaphysical course that I could do psychometry readings, something I didn't even know existed. I subsequently did readings for my co-workers and told them things I couldn't have known that either had already happened or about things that wound up happening in the future. Following the instructions we learned in class, I'd get an object from the person, usually a ring or earring and hold it firmly in my hand. I did pre-meditative breathing first to clear my mind then as I saw words or pictures (sometimes scenes), I drew and wrote them down. I did successful readings in all but two cases. The first reading I did for my supervisor yielded nothing; one I did for our unit secretary meant nothing to her and nothing came of those readings. I had an accuracy rate of 75%. I never charged for my readings and stopped doing them due to religious reasons.

What people need to understand is that often psychic impressions are not 100% accurate, nor should they be expected to be. Some things may be off here or there. There may be symbolic elements to the dreams and predictions that will have to be interpreted. Are there charlatans who pretend to be psychics? Absolutely...I went to one and never went back. But I have gone to a few recommended by friends who's accuracy were uncanny....right down to telling me the conversation my husband and I had on the way to the reading. And no, my husband did not recommend these readers nor had any knowledge of them beforehand. BTW...I refrain from giving any information that the psychic readers can glean from and make generalized statements that could apply to info I gave. It's late now but I think I'll post some of my experiences either in this thread or start my own. @RadishRose @Judycat

I'd love to post about them. Do you think I should start my own thread? Like I said there have been so many of them over the years. Even the readings I've had are interesting.
No! Don’t be silly. I started a thread about psychics. People contributed including you. Why would you need to now start your own thread about psychics when there is already one made?
I don’t mind you telling your stories in it.

As Keesha says, this subject has been discussed before. If people refuse to believe that some people are psychic, no matter how convincing the evidence, there's little point talking about it.
The police use psychics to help them solve crimes. Would they bother, if it was not successful?

I don't believe in all psychics, but my mom and her then best friend went to one 30 years ago and his predictions proved to be so dead on accurate it was absolutely scary to me. His name was Viktor Venhaus and I've never been able to find him anywhere but he is one psychic I would believe if I could ever consult with him. He allowed his predictions to be taped which implied certainty to me.

I think we need to make a distinction between psychics and fortune tellers. Psychics have ESP and are able to pick up information outside the purely physical. Some work as mediums, contacting the spirit world and making predictions.
Those of us who are psychic regard it as being perfectly normal, but rarely tell outsiders because we are viewed with suspicion by people who refuse to accept that there is more to life than just the physical.

I believe that psychics are trained or gifted with the ability to quickly pick up on cues from people and their surroundings that are available to all of us. IMO the rest of it is just creative phishing and the ability to weave the bits of information into a story or a vague prediction of some sort.

I had a reading with George Anderson. I have it on tape. Anyone remember him?

Have had many different experiences, with the aid of others and on my own that have no other explanation but yet I seek one anyway. Stubborn that way. Maybe I should just accept it but find that road difficult.
