Brutal Mugging In NYC in Which Victim Was Beaten & Stripped ALL clothing

To me, a worser NYC crime was a day or so ago, a young woman bought wine at a liquor store where she was accosted & surrounded by a few young men who "accused" her of thinking she was too good for them when she politely rebuffed them. They beat her and bit her face. She has huge welts. So angry over this one, she was just coming home from work and was looking forward to a pleasant evening.

Recently, there was a 25 y/o male grad from Temple University that was taking his dog for a walk in Philadelphia when he was approached by two men. The one man pulled a gun on him, lifted his wallet and then shot him in the chest killing him. The dirt-bag of a human being was released on cheap bail just two weeks prior. The on street video from a nearby store showed the two men then running away. Thankfully, he was recognized and now sits back in prison. Temple Grad

If we keep demeaning and defunding cops, we will all soon be in a free for all where it's every man, woman and child for theirself.

I always wondered if judges ever feel remorse when they do stupid things that effect the rest of us?

I say the time has come where not only should criminals like this be handed over to society to take care of, but the judges involved, too.

Can't think of a better way to send a message to all.

Thanks. If I hadn't seen another post with this, I would have had to do it.

This is a serious question.

If I were an American and was conceal carrying, and I witnessed someone jumping on another human beings head with both feet, then slashing them with a knife, could I not intervene?

Would it be legal for me to do so in order to save the young man's life?

I am beginning to wonder with all of the violence that maybe there is something to using vigilante justice. That sounds funny coming from a retired cop, but it's already going on almost everyday somewhere in the U.S.

Because of my recent diagnosed condition, I had to turn in all of my weapons located in the home. I will get them back when my doctor states that I am no threat to anyone. I never thought for a moment that I would see this day come. It made me feel sad to know that I can't be trusted with a gun, but I completely understand and would feel the same way if it happened to anyone else.

I am sorry to hear of your woes, 911.

It wouldn't matter if it were illegal or not, would it? Split second reaction to jump in!

Well, Since I've already been called a racist, white supremisist and a deplorable on this forum, I'll keep my mouth shut.
That is the problem with all these labels that people make up. I have heard "leftist", "right wing", "snowflake", and on and on. These labels carry baggage known only to the person who is using the term. In other words, apparently, these labels mean at least slightly different things to different people, yet they toss them around as if everybody fully agrees on both the term and the baggage it carries.

I have been called a "leftist", a "right wing", and a few other things by different people, though never (so far) in these forums. To me, rather than the name calling, it would be far better to have a conversation in which people SAY exactly what they mean, allow the person against whom they are making these claims to respond, and both sides LISTEN to each other such that each person actually HEARS what the other is saying and makes sure s/he understands the person before responding.

Unfortunately, that takes a modicum of maturity and patience that seems to be scarce these days.

Appears the victim was the target and a known criminal/gangbanger.
It wasn’t but if these had been family members who were attacking this man and someone had jumped in and shot them to stop it, then the wrong person would have been saved. You just never can tell who is in the right or wrong. You sure can call for help. Remember that woman who was stabbed to death walking down the street and no one called for help?

Jules, are you talking about the stabbing death of Kitty Genovese, in 1964?

I was just going to mention vigilantes. I'm surprised that the relatives of the victims don't go after the attackers themselves instead of relying on the police to deal with them.
What is needed is street patrols on foot. I'm sure decent people would be prepared to pay for the peace of mind it would give.
