Ireland would need 4-million migrants over the next 30 years to maintain the financial health of the State pension system.
The stark warning was made to the Government-appointed Pensions Commission. It was told that the number of older people is rising fast, leaving a smaller proportion of those in work to fund the pensions of the over 65s.

There are currently five working age people to every one person over the age of 65. By the year 2051 this will fall to 2.3 people for every one person over 65.

What is the state pension in the Republic of Ireland?

From March 2019, the State pension in Ireland for a person aged 66 or over is €248.30 per week.

they can have some of ours...we're over run in our cities with migrants, especially with those living under bridges et al....

Talking of state pensions, I am delighted, but hardly able to believe I qualify for my state pension this spring...

Here in Canada, Canada Pension starts at age 60, and at age 65, Old Age Pension kicks-in.

I know what two people are, but I have always wondered about the "decimal people". What does a .3 person look like? I remember when the average family had 2.5 kids, and wondered what a .5 kid was.

We are heading into that problem in the USA. I have read in several sources I would consider reasonably reliable that Social Security will likely be cut by 25% across the board by 2034. We planned our retirement savings placement accordingly.
