Painting your car.

We don't have as far to go, as we've already been
Anyone else ever use this to paint a car? :D I painted a 57 Ford once with the old trusty Electrolux of my mom's. I did learn the hard way that before you use the exhaust end for painting, make sure the bag inside was new and unused. (Think pretty textured and gritty Blue). o_O:ROFLMAO:

Myself, and the wife are actually good painters. (well, we can make them shine anyway). Comes from painting race cars.
Not in the same league as my brother. (see Granada and 64 Chevelle). (y) :)

A guy my husband knows used a regular, ordinary paint roller to paint his car back in the day.

We had a station wagon that my dad decided to paint. No way was he going to give Earl Sheib (spelling?) $29.95 of his hard-earned money for a paint job when he could do it himself for a couple of dollars' worth of paint. No siree!

It was supposed to be "pearl grey". The finished color turned out to be "eye-blinding silver". I was 13 and that car embarrassed me so much I thought I was going to die. I'd make him drop me off a block from where I was going and pick me up there. We called it the "Silver Streak". My happiest day was when it got traded in on a non-embarrassing beige car. Teenagers.....

I mentioned it a few years ago on my graduating class Facebook group and amazingly several people remembered it.

My uncle bragged about buying an old weather beaten heap, pouring cooking oil on it, rubbing 'til it 'shined like a diamond'
Then parking it in front of his service station with a for sale sign on it

I think Earl Scheib got a few tips from my uncle

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: My rattle can primer high school sweetheart used to get an oil rub down with Marvel Mystery Oil to give it that licorice look. :)
It also waterproofed it, (as primer was thin and bled moisture) at least for a short time.

Didn't paint a car.

Had made a teepee out of old burlap bags.
Girl friend & I decided it needed some art work on the out side.

I knew just the paint I wanted..
Dad had put a dark blue enamel high up out of my reach.

Where there's a will,, there's away.
I scrambled up onto his work bench.
Got the paint.

Took time to get the lid off & a brush.
Walking to out tent.
Stepped on a loose board,,,, some how the paint can flew,,landing in my face. ACCCCCKK!

I was blind!
My friend led me into the house.

Luck was with me..
Mother to the rescue.
Rubbed lard on my face,, my once red hair was dark blue.
More lard went on ,until I blue free,, except for some blue on a few teeth.

When Dad learned of my fun with his paint,, , think he almost laughed.
I did get scolded.
