Been accused of getting bad news from CNN, my question is, who do you get your unbiased news from? Fox News is out, now CNN, who next. I'm accessing BBC for now seem to be ok but that could change if I get solid evidence to the contrary. Science News my source for actual facts, Slashdot for tech.

BBC World News is pretty good. I can't find a TV news source that doesn't include commentary, and commentary is a big problem these days. It used to come in separate from the news reporting - news followed by commentary, and you could sit through that or not, but now the commentary is part of the reporting and you can't distinguish between the two unless you pay very close attention. Not many of us have the fortitude to do that; to dissect every phrase. It's exhausting.

I wouldn't recommend the BBC for unbiased news. I used to depend on it for honest news, but it has become too left-wing and anti-white. For indepth news, I now go to Al Jazeera. They report on news from all around the world, not just in the Middle East. Their news readers are British, so there is no problem with foreign accents.

So your opinions are just that nothing more than opinions either yours or someone else's. It's like asking what is a good movie or the best car. I think the sisters mentioned above are probably as good as any.

I sometimes watch PBS News Hour. I also watch cbs, nbc, and abc news.

We watch the NewsHour pretty much every night. They have a bit more depth than any of the network world news programs, but there's no substitute for print media. I'd take the NY Times or Washington Post if I only had one source for news for in depth reporting... probably the NY Times. They've made some mistakes in the past (such as with Judith Miller), but they're still pretty good. WaPo is good too, but since I'm originally from NY, the NY Times is my pick. I think the Boston Globe is pretty good, too.

A good report should have the five Ws: who, what, where, when, and why.

Most TV news shows leave out the why. Granted, that's often not known.

I read the Huffington post. I look at my own local paper and watch stuff on ABC news on PlutoTV. I take it all with a grain of salt. I sometimes wonder if any of the news stuff is true or if they're just posting it to get a rise out of people.

Try newsy.com if you don't care for any of the other stations.
