Who likes Tuna? Subway lashes out at 'baseless' lawsuit, insists sandwiches are '100% tuna'

I never liked Tuna because of the taste.

Subway on Friday rejected the basis of a lawsuit claiming the ingredients used in its tuna sandwiches are anything but, defending itself against allegations it called “baseless.”
On Thursday, The Washington Post first reported on the existence of a lawsuit claiming the fast food chain — known for its foot-long sandwiches — is serving "a mixture of various concoctions" in order to create its tuna.

Never cared for Subway. I am wary of tuna fish sandwiches unless I make them myself. The only exception is from a deli called"Antones" here in Houston. Kroger carries some of their sandwiches. Their tuna sandwich is really good. When I feel like tuna, I will get one of theirs as one is large enough for two meals with chips and a coke. After that I really don't want tuna for several weeks.

Subway has about served its time. I much prefer a fresh deli. I remember when some restaurants in Florida were passing off Tilapia as Grouper. We are talking about a fish that sells for $4 a pound compared to one that sells for $17 a pound. The taste isn't even close.

Wondered if Antones' was still in business terry...loved their Italian subs!

Subway can stick it!

Aside from not entertaining the likes of such establishments, I learned everything I needed to know about Subway a few years ago when all of the kerfuffle surfaced regarding their fake bread.

I won’t eat anyone else’s tuna salad but my own. Used to get a veggie sub once in a while but gave up on subway several years ago when I saw one of the food preparers do something very unsanitary.

Have not been to their location downtown in years but I was surprised to see some of their sandwiches at Kroger. They really pile on the meat in their meat ones but I prefer the tuna ones. They always tastes so fresh but I always check the date on them.

I am not a big fan of any chains of sub places.................... while the idea to create as you go was unique.......... i quit ever going to a subway as it seems to take forever to get through with only a few people in line.. most places around me give you 30 minutes for lunch if over half in waiting it was not worth it.......
Being a franchise also really hurt this brand as some do a good job but other locations may not cut it.......many try to hurry you thru and constantly try to up-sell ......... Tuna is just an item i did not try at Subway because i figured it was not a item that sells enough to insure it was fresh..... most Subway franchises in my area quit offering tuna years ago.......

I had a tuna fish sandwich today. I always mix the tuna with mayo; lettuce on top with white bread.
My standby, too, and then there is the super-finely chopped up onion and celery I'll occasionally add to it, OMG, so yummy!

I can't impress upon the fact enough, super fine when chopping the onion and celery.

It was labelled ’Fake’ by the press because Irish courts found that it had too much sugar in it to earn a VAT free tax exemption.

Frankly, I don’t like their food. DH does, because it’s easy to get a vegetarian sandwich when we’re someplace like an airport.

Thanks for weighing-in on the bread fact.

I couldn't recall what all the kerfuffle was about.

We're not big sandwich people, but when we do get a hankering for a sandwich, I'll pick up a variety of fresh veggies and tasty ingredients to put into the, and of course made-at-home never fails to trump all.

That's my only complaint with Subway is that they are stingy with the sandwich fixins.

When I didn't have to be concerned about sugar, I ate at Subway often - usually their footlong veggie.
Now that I have to be concerned, I had to learn how much sugar is in everything. Subway's footlong bread has 80 gms sugar. That's the bread, alone before anything is in the sandwich. That's equal to 2 cans of coke.

Eating a subway foot long is almost equivalent to eating two big meals , in one sitting of course it depends on your chosen filling I looked it up last night in average a foot long sub would be close to 900+ calories I only eat that a day let alone in one sitting.

Link for (KJ ) in subs they are quoting 6 “ subs in Australia and quoting in metric
The cookies are very high in KJ as well

I like subway but rarely get it because of the bread. I ate a child size sandwich form firehouse sub and was hospitalized for 2 weeks so I’ve never bought from them again. It’s hard to know what’s safe and what is not anymore.

Always enjoyed Subway and usually get the tuna. Wife likes the meatball sub. We haven't croaked yet and I wouldn't single them out of any of the sub/fastfood places as particularly bad or good. None of them are "top of the line" as far as food goes and like anything, they vary in degree of cleanliness and general upkeep.

I've eaten at Subway a lot lately. It's close by and quick. I've had their tuna...it was good. And I don't usually order tuna because of spoilage, but never had a problem.

They send me coupons and I use them, and then leave them for someone else to use what I don't.

Is there something wrong w/their bread that I should know about?
