When I lived in Sitka, Alaska, I went into the local grocery and, when you walk in, there is a lady playing a grand piano!
It was one of those "WHAT THE?" moments.
Remember those "Head Shops" from the 60's? Incense, Roach Clips, Beads, Blacklight Posters, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, etc. There was one a couple of miles from me called
"The Third Eye." When I was around 19, my buddy & I would hang out there. It was.....like......A real trip, far out, man........
On one visit, someone left an antique organ that was not electric; there were two big pedals that had to be constantly worked to pump air into bellows. I had never seen anything like that. There was a
"Do Not Touch" sign on it. It had a price tag on it (probably a consignment sale).
I don't remember how much, but I remember telling my friend: "You could buy 3 new cars for that.
I asked the store manager if I could try it. He said, "If you know how to play, OK; we just don't want people who don't play messing around with it because it's very valuable."
I loved the sound - I could hear the air going through it along with the music - sort of like a flute.
