Will you tell us of your "ghost" experience?

Gaer

"Angel whisperer"
I know many of you have seen or heard spirits, apparitions, "Ghosts", heard your name being called, seen lights around them or have witnessed "odd", unexplainable phenomonena in their lives. Will you tell us about them?

Several years ago I was standing in my bathroom, primping in the mirror. Suddenly, through the mirror, I saw a man standing in my hallway just looking at me. I didn’t turn around to look at him directly and I wasn’t frightened (much to my surprise). He wasn’t “transparent” like I imagine a ghost would be. I wondered later if he was actually a Jinn. He had salt and pepper hair, was either a light skinned Black man or a tanned White man. He had on a blue, black and white plaid shirt and seemed rather short. About maybe 45 seconds to a minute later he seemed to just float sideways into our studio room. I didn’t recognize him and never saw him again. Being a “skeptical believer” I questioned what I saw. But after relaying the story to a few friends in different conversations, they all said that I gave too much detail to have imagined it.

That is amazing, Diva. Even more so that you apparently weren’t frightened. Must have been a calm spirit. Maybe somebody who used to live there? Interesting!!!!

Let's see...where do I begin.

When I divorced my husband, I took myself to Cayucos, Ca. for a week.
Company had come and gone.

I was laying on the bed in the master bdrm reading a Jackie Collins book. Sober.
As I'm moving from my side to my back on the bed, there's this kid standing at the foot of the bed. (like they always say). I look at him, he looks at me...may be 2-3 secs, and then he pivots around QUICKLY, and glides on out the door.

I could tell what he was wearing, young guy 25ish. I didn't feel frightened. I felt he was coming to see who was sleeping in his parents bed.

I stayed till the end of my visit....

My ghost or mysterious happening took place roughly 30 years ago.

It was late in the night, maybe 10 pm, I was doing dishes and tidying up the kitchen. For months the loss of a lifelong friend had been weighing on me heavily, and as I worked getting the kitchen pulled together, a strong urge came over me to drop what I was doing and look outside, so I slung the tea-towel over my shoulder, turned, and started walking towards the living room window and suddenly, it was as if I walked into what felt like an icy cold thing (I can't describe it).

It was winter and all, so cold outside, yet the house was warm and the heat was on, and there were no drafts or open doors or windows in the house at the time. To make the strange happening even more unsettling, as soon as I walked into the icy cold shape, it felt as though I was trying to walk through a thick sludge, it even slowed my pace down as I entered and exited the cold spot, and the size of the icy cold shape was in keeping with the size of an average human being.

It all happened so fast, one second I hit the cold patch, my pace drastically slowed down, as if I was swimming through sticky glue, and the next second, I was through whatever it was that I just encountered, and my speed picked up again. It took me a few steps to stop and allow what just unfolded to register with me, causing me to stop, turn, and walk through the same spot again to see what it was that I just felt, yet when I came upon the icy cold spot I had just experienced, it was gone, the entire room was toasty warm, the air still.

Even more unsettling was the fact that I had felt a sense of being watched for quite some time that evening while I busy working in the kitchen, at times to the point where it gave me chills, causing me to look over my shoulder, yet there was nothing there, but I do remember an uneasy feeling that was washing through me, nothing I could put my thumb on, just a creepy, haunting feeling.

I remember feeling a strong presence in the room just prior to a voice telling me to look outside, yet when all was said and done, the house felt calm once again, peaceful, free of whatever it was that had come to visit that night, and never has another happening like it occurred again.

It still sends shivers up and down my spine when I think about it, knowing that it was something, something not human, something unknown, something that shouldn't have been in our home.

For months, even years after, I tried telling myself it was my friend that I lost, she was coming to visit me, but she would never would have done something to spook me like that.

I strongly feel to this day that it was an entity, a being of some kind, and it shouldn't have been there.

In closing, I would like others to weigh-in on this for me, I want you to give me your take on what transpired that night, your own belief as to what transpired, your own belief as to what it was.

We rented a house and moved in the next day. The landlords flat out lied about the previous renter, saying he had moved. In fact, when I asked them about a piece of equipment in the carport, they said they'd "call Bob to pick it up".

Immediately after moving in, strange things started happening. I had hung a bunch of ornamental baskets on the hallway walls and they kept falling off at night. An antique flugelhorn I had hung on the wall "fell" off the wall so "hard" that it hit the other wall and made a mark. I would straighten pictures and they'd be crooked again. This went on for about three weeks, tapering off and finally stopping. We joked about there being a poltergeist in the house.

I finally got a chance to get to know the lady next door more than just waving to and saying "hi" and she asked me, "Does it feel strange to live in a house where someone has died so recently?" WHAAAAAT??? Died "so" recently? You mean Bob isn't still alive? Nope, he had died only six days before we rented the house. He was an older alcoholic and his girlfriend came over one morning and found him dead on the couch of somewhat natural causes (if you can count alcoholism as a natural cause of death....)

I have always read that "ghosts" are the spirits of the dead who have not come to terms with their death and will not or can not "move on" to the next plane. Apparently they are sometimes very angry. I guess Bob wasn't ready to move out yet and was upset that someone else was living in his home, so he went on a three-week rampage knocking stuff off the walls.

So, that's my ghost story. Maybe it was Bob, maybe it was just a series of perfectly normal and natural happenings. Who knows? I sure don't. I don't believe in ghosts; I don't disbelieve in ghosts. I just know that there are one hell of a lot of things out there I don't understand......

I think I might have shared my ghost story on here somewhere before, but I never miss a chance to tell it again. LOL

A favourite Aunt had a birthday only a couple of days before mine, and she used to say that I was the only one who understood her because we were both Leos. She found religion in her latter years (I was still looking:)) and she would say that when she died she would come back and haunt me just to prove she had been right all along. LOL

So on my first birthday after the poor old love had passed on, my musical doorbell (with a number of different tunes), developed a glitch and kept playing the same tune over and over even though no one was there. And the tune was ... yep, you guessed it - Happy Birthday!!! The next day it was working fine again.

It never happened again, as far as I know, because long before the next birthday rolled around that particular doorbell had been disposed of by my seriously rattled ex-husband (she never did like him).

Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.

I was about 10 years old at the time...
There was a man down the road from us that had a big pond with huge goldfish in it. He loved watching kids catch fish.
Barbless hook and throw them back... and every cast caught a fish...
Everyday I would get off the bus at his house and he would tease about no fishing and give in and let me catch several.
About 4 in the morning, I awoke and there stands Ralph in my bedroom, he asked me if I wanted to go fishing.
He turned around and walked out through the wall....I freaked out screaming... My mother said it was just a bad dream.
Later that day we found out he had passed away sometime during the night in his sleep.

I only had two. One was my Dad. He came and sat by the side of the bed and said, “I’m ok, Kath. Everything is ok.” This one COULD have been a dream, but I don’t think so. It was too real and shook me to my core

And the second one, my husband was ar the neighbors playing cards with the guys. I went to bed and half woke up with him standing over me. It was dark, I couldn’t see him, but knew he was there. He leaned down and gave me a kiss. I could feel his mustache on my cheek. I mumbled something, rolled over and went back to sleep. Later, I heard him come in the house. He crawled in bed and cuddled up next to me and nuzzled my neck. “When did you shave your mustache?” I asked. He laughed and said “about 5 years ago. Why?” My eyes flew open. I am telling you, that WAS NOT a dream. Someone or something with a mustache definitely kissed my cheek that night.

I was watching Celebrity Ghost the other night and their guest was Vince Neil from Mötley Crüe. He was telling his time as a young boy and the thing in his room that lived in the closet. This story got to me as I had similar things in my room on the old house on West Hill.

I was 8 or 9 when these unexplainable things happened to me. I had a long walk in closet where I kept my clothes and most of my toys. This closet had the type of latch that you raised up ang the bar would fit in a groove. Impossible to open by itself.

I had an upstairs bedroom and the only light was moonlight that shown in my dormer window. Every night before I went to bed, I always looked into my closet and made sure the latch was shut. I could see the closet door from my bed and could see the outline of my room. One night, as I was about to fall asleep, I heard a slight noise. I had a small lamp on my bed stand as well as a Airline AM radio from Montgomery Ward. As I lit up the room, I noticed the closet door was open about 3 inches. I relatched the door and went back to bed.

Here is where it gets weird. A very bright light started coming through my dormer window and the closet door was open again. I saw something move across the room. What or who, I do not know. ET, shadow person or ghost.....I still have no idea but it did scare the day lights out of me. This was the start of my sleeping with my head covered up. I don't recall this happening again, but I did add two more bolt locks on the closet door. 👻👻

This is a story true story I wrote years ago for our towns newspaper blog section.

My ghost experience , was when I was 10 and my sister was 14 1965
My sister was going to be a bridesmaid the next day for our cousin,
And our cousin stayed over, so we were giggling and chatting all night long...
Around 1am there was a knocking at the window......
God we were so scared.........my sister , opened the heavy curtain, and saw a lady dressed in white holding a candle........she just quickly closed the curtain, and freaked out basically
We all managed to forget about it, and we had a lovely day , the next day ......
about aweek later our cousin came over to show us all the wedding photos....
Every one of the pictures , had a faded lady in white ,holding a candle in the right hand side of the picture .......🥺🥺

Hey, don't stop there! What did your cousin, or anyone else, say about the "ghost". Please. 🙏
They were as shocked as us !.......as I said they were very faint ,
They got the photographer around, and he analysed them, and couldn’t work it all out.
He said he thought it could just be a smudge in the printing !!
But I’ve had a few experience with the afterworld, so I would never say I don’t believe !!!

Well, I'm a 'dead know nothing' guy

Ghosts, apparitions, 'angels', whatever you wanna call 'em, they ain't the good guys, and they ain't yer folks
(that's my belief)

Beyond my back fence is a graveyard
Very very quiet folks

Now, if they start gettin' rowdy, I'll let y'all know

This thread sounds like a slumber party for 10-year-olds. Five stars for woo-woo imagining. Zero stars for credibility.
Carry on, please. These are fun to read.
Nothing like making members feel good about themselves through someone's negative prattle.

I for one don't believe in god, religion, none of it, so it took me a fair bit of courage to post my reply, but it's defeatist replies like yours that will eventually push people like myself away from being a contributing member on this forum.

Why some members feel the need to visit thread topics that don't interest them is beyond me, but to come here with intent to purposely sully what should be an enjoyable topic, further baffles me.

With that said, five stars to you, Sunny, on displaying to those of us here what little class you have.

There are many unexplained happenings.......... for those who either never experienced or brushed it off or tried to explain it in any way possible they just will not get it. maybe they deflect because they are afraid.........

I have had brushes with various happenings some so quickly i can not describe in a meaningful way ......it is more of a feeling when the item occurred ...... not fear not panic but a calm moment ... a moment when i had a very strong sense of my father who passed many years before and i saw what looked like him walk past a window i ran outside and all around and no one was around.

... Not really all that ghostly;
1. It is my custom to four wheel into difficult/remote areas early to get the best camping spots. One trip I setup camp near the confluence of the south (north?) Platte and Tarryall creek in an area that still has evidence of old gold diggings. In the middle of the day I started hearing the sound of someone shoveling sand/gravel... thinking that I was alone I walked the area trying to follow the sound, and could find no one... I then drove the Jeep trails in the valley and could find no camps, people nor vehicles, I was alone in the valley. A couple of hours after returning to camp the sound stopped; I still wonder...

2. Shortly after purchasing my current home I was walking down the hall to go to bed when I noticed a relatively bright blue light coming from an unoccupied bedroom (I was alone in the house and as far as I know there have never been any blue lights in the building). Just as I came to the door and was able to look within the light went out. It has never happened again.

Enjoy!

Not ghostly but unreal. A lot of us were crowded around my folks kitchen table, preparing to go to my father's funeral. It was shortly before noon when someone said, "We'd better get going, we're supposed to be there by noon." Then someone else hollered, "Look at the clock, what's happened?" We all turned to look at the kitchen clock up on the wall, which had suddenly jumped to about 2:15. That was the time my father had passed away several days earlier. Everyone saw it and was astounded. The idea was floated that there were forces that we couldn't see or understand at work that day. That idea gathered some steam at the funeral. My mother, who was deep in the fog of late stage dementia/Alzheimers, had been brought from the hospice to the funeral home. At one point in the funeral, a local pastor of a church dad hadn't attended for 50 years was blathering on about something that had no relation to dad when my mother suddenly came alive, stood up, looked around and said, "What a bunch of crap - he can just kiss my ass." She then sat down and went back into her stupor never to return. We laughed, we cried and we wondered about life and death. You see, the time when she gave her opinion on the minister's sermon was right about the time when dad passed away.

I'm with you Marg.
Sunny, I've asked you before, if you see my name on a post or a thread, please leave me alone. I will do the same for you.
No matter what the thread or opinion, you try your best to destroy it. Now You're making my friend Marg feel bad about her post? Nope.
Please stay away from us!

Imo, I feel that a lot of times strange little things do happen to us, and we just tend to toss them aside, thinking 'Nah, that didn't just happen, I must be seeing things', and maybe you're right.

But, for me when loved ones that have passed keep making noises, slamming doors, tapping on things...well I can't ignore it.

Thank you all for sharing your stories, I love reading them.
