Fauci predicts vaccine ‘open season’ by April

Anthony S. Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious-disease expert, struck a hopeful tone about vaccine availability in the coming months, predicting Thursday that there could be an “open season” on doses by April.

“By the time we get to April, that will be what I would call, for better wording, ‘open season,’ namely, virtually everybody and anybody in any category could start to get vaccinated,” he said on NBC’s “Today” show. The remarks echoed his sentiment from days earlier that he expects the pace of vaccinations to improve in the months ahead.

What I hear him saying is that we will start to see all people being eligible by April.

In other words, more people competing for a limited supply of the vaccine.

Unless the supply increases dramatically in my area I don't expect to get vaccinated until late fall.

I have been seeing reports about the United States securing 600 million doses of the vaccine but at this point, I haven't seen any sort of timeline on the availability.
 

Now that millions have been vaccinated, with very few problems, people are starting to rush to get vaccinated. However, the amount of vaccines available are limited, and it may be Summer before the supply begins to catch up with demand.

It is nice to listen to Dr. Faucci now that he is free to speak without fear of being silenced.
