Handheld Immersion Blender

Any recommendations? My Wolfgang Puck one is so annoying. You slide the two parts together at the slots. Even though I marked the slots, I still fight putting it together and taking it apart. Usually I have to get help from DH. Today I decided that after too many years of this, I can tolerate replacing it.

It’s not used often so just needs to be a middle of the line product.

I almost wanted to get one of those imersion blenders because my kitchen is so tiny, but I opted for a hand held mixer with bread dough hooks.
Honestly, I have no where to put a Cusineart mixer. Please let us know if you get one, how you like it!

I have a KitchenAid. No complaints; nothing to put together so you whirl it through some soapy water to clean, then rinse and it's done.

I don't use it often - my KA stand mixer, Homgeek blender and Cuisinart food processor stay out on the counters, so it's more of a nuisance to go into the cabinet, pull out the drawer the stick blender is in, and then use it.

But it's great for pureeing hot soups, something a regular blender is terrible at (splashes out all over EVERYTHING), or small amounts of batters.

I confess to doing absolutely no research first. I was a regular on the Gardenweb Kitchens forum a long time ago - maybe a decade, almost? - and somebody posted that there was a flash sale on the KA website and it was a mere $25!

Well, I couldn't turn it down for that price, so I bought it. I probably wouldn't miss it if it broke, but it has come in handy at times.

I have a Waring 2 speed immersion blender that I picked up in a thrift shop for $3.00. I don't use it often enough to spend much more than that.

I mainly use it to make mayonnaise in a clean peanut butter or mason jar with a tight-fitting lid.

Holy cow. I just looked at the $$ for the Kitchenaid or Cuisinart variable speed immersion blenders. I‘ll be searching for a great sale.

I swear by a IB for soups. My cream of broccoli is made with skim milk, etc and the blending. Today I made mushroom soup.

You'd love one, Gaer.

I highly recommend one to anyone that spends any amount of time in the kitchen.

Are you married? :love::love::love:
Yes. He’s very health conscious. Even if not, he thinks it’s delicious. (If he doesn’t, he damned well better not say anything after the time I put in making it from scratch.) He’s a wise man.

Jules. My apologies, I checked the name brand of my hand-held immersion blender tonight while tidying up the kitchen, and mine is a Braun.

My advice to you is to go with any quality brand. I don't think you can lose.

I have a Braun mini chopper which comes with attachments for immersion blender, whisk ( never use that one) and a beaker. The whole thing fits into a shoebox and takes up no room on my counter.

You can't go wrong with Braun or Cuisinart.

Searching on Amazon I saw better prices for Cuisinart & Kitchenaid. I really would prefer to go to a store and get a feel for one. I’m not in a rush so will do some in store viewing.

Yes, I encourage you to do just that. Get a feel for it.

I've had a Moulinex hand blender for decades. I barely use it but when I used it the other day during my soap making process it still worked fine. It comes with attachments that twist on and off. Very easy.

Moulinex. That’s a brand I’ve forgotten about. It’s the twist off & on that are the key feature.

Yes. They still sell them but the from the photos I saw, the design is slightly different. To be expected considering how long I've had mine.
