Pretty much my entire family caught Covid at Christmas (Superspreader event), 22 people in my family got it, including my parents, fortunately eveyone survived! We all knew we were taking a risk but my mom wouldn't hear of skipping Christmas, its the one time of the year we all get together, she's 84 and my dad is 86, she had some pretty rough symptoms but my dad had hardly no symptoms which was lucky... We all took horse/worm medicine (bought at the feed store :) - I don't care what the 'experts' say, we all swear that it helped. (This is NOT medical advice :)

How many people got together at this event? 22 is a lot of people to get sick all at once. I'm glad you're all ok!

I have 4 brothers and 3 sisters, 16 nieces and nephews (all grown with families) and a slew of great-nieces/nephews, most showed up, pretty much all the adults who showed up caught it.

And, we all know it was a stupid thing to do, but we're from Oklahoma and we're not about to stop living :) ... but I guess once you've had it (as long as you survive it) it's no longer something to be feared, we still wear masks when we're around others, but not when we're around each other.

I feel the same.

This story could have had a very different ending. Your family was extremely fortunate.

I just heard from a friend in another state who is in her eighties. She picked up the virus in January and is okay now. A doctor in her family got her the monoclonal antibody infusion known as BAM. Not sure if my doctor could do that for me.
