Five-gallon Punch Bowl Set

It's 15 inches in diameter and 8 inches tall and comes with 16 glass cups - everything in great condition (no cracks or chips). If I were to put it up for sale, what would be a reasonable price to ask?

Everyone had one of these in the ’50. We did. I think 5 bucks is a bit high but you might get it. Most people just use red cups now days 😂

Yes, it would be costly to ship. The glass is thick - it must weigh 10 pounds at least not counting the cups.

About the Only place you might be able to sell something like this, for more than a few dollars, would be EBAY. That almost requires having a PAYPAL account attached to a credit card. Otherwise, such items usually wind up at Goodwill or the Salvation Army.

I have a large punch bowl with lovely lines that I display because I like the look of it and have the space to do so. I've used it 3 times in the past 12 years: to hold chips at very large day-after parties after my children's weddings. Not a practical item.

When I move to a smaller home or die it will probably go to a charity, as happened with my mother's and MIL's punch bowl sets. I literally couldn't give them away to Gen X-ers, Gen Y-ers or Millennials. Thrift stores are filled with pressed-glass relics from bygone days.

I never had one and I can't remember ever having any punch, anywhere from one.
I grew up in a punch family maybe because we had a punch bowl or maybe because we didn't have much money. Keep a bottle of vodka handy for those that prefer their punch with as opposed to those that prefer it without. ;)

I remember variations of this Jello-based punch turning up at church basement and firehouse weddings, graduations, baby showers, etc...

You can also swap out the Jello for two cans of jellied cranberry sauce with good results.
