I hate "remove your ad blocker" sites.

People have very nicely added links to their comments. That' so we can read a news story about their post. But what irks the hell out of me are those news sources that want me to remove my ad blocker just to view their story. I HAVE an ad blocker for a reason. If I cancel it all the time, why have it. And, really, if I cancel my adbocker to read a news item, how much cash is the news source really raking in. If I click to delete my adblocker, does that mean the news guy can now buy a Malibu home and a Ferrari. So what's the big deal with me and my adblocker.
 

I'll turn it off for some sites, since that's how they earn their revenue, and I don't mind the ads if they're are unobtrusive. It's either that or require people to subscribe to their site.

Some sites are just unusable with all the ads popping up all over the place and streaming automatically. On those sites, I just turn off Javascript so I can read the articles without being bombarded with ads.

I agree with you. I never remove my ad blocker. As you say, I have it there for a reason.
 
My adblocker has intercepted well over 4 million ads. If I run into a site which wants it turned off, I just do a search on the subject, and usually find several other sites which are reporting on the topic. The same goes for the "news" sites that want me to sign up for a subscription....I can almost always find another site.
 
There are some good response here. As Don M. says, you can usually find the same information elsewhere.

I love my ad blocker because I hate adds. Actually, that is why I cut my cable over 18 years ago. You couldn't pay me enough to sit & watch advertising on TV that treats me like I'm stupid because I figure I'm not.
 
Everyone hates ads.
Would we rather pay to visit websites?
Somebody has to pay for the design, content, etc, etc. therefore; ads.

I also use an ad blocker, but when I'm asked to remove it for that site, I do. It's just a move of a finger.
