Do people still dance together?

My local senior citizen club doesn't allow people to dance together that isn't married to one another.
Wow. 😯 I have never been anywhere to dance (and I’ve danced all over Tennessee and in a variety of other states as well) where there have been ANY restrictions on who you could dance with!!

That seems pretty harsh.

I love to dance, We have a group here that is ecstatic dance. Everyone just dances to the music in many styles. I attend Drummings and dance to the drum beats, (clothes on). It is interesting to go from the trans like beat of the Native American drummers to the bongos and the the guys that think they are in Rio. Really like swing, mostly East coast and in the disco era I just combined it with some Travolta moves and was first to jump onto the dancefloor. Took ballroom classes and hung with that group for a time. Enjoyed them all, loved the tango and wanted to learn the Bolero but did not have the right partner. Never really got into two step and I love slow dances, on the dance floor or in the kitchen. This Covid really puts a damper on getting together for a little fun.

I may be one of the few men that still enjoy dancing. My wife and I took lessons to learn some of the more eccentric dances, but I enjoy dancing to music from my era. Occasionally, my wife and I will put some albums on the old components set and dance for a few hours. We do this about three times a year.

Have you ever seen a man 6’4ā€ do the split? I used to be able to do it, but then again, I used to do a lot of things I can’t do now.

I dance with my girlfriend Michelle...at home. Her home, usually. I have some great albums but she has a nice stereo system. I dance with my grandkids, too, to youtube music videos.

A few years ago, 4 or 5 of their friends (who live here) used to come dance with us. I have this big bowlful of old maracas and I'd give 1 or 2 maracas to each kid and then put on a Mexican station on my radio and we'd just go crazy. Good times!
