Happy hour

A drink while I’m making dinner. Nothing with or after. Dinner is at 5:30, give or take.

If we were travelling and I had a drink at lunch in the restaurant, I’d need a long afternoon nap.

@Gary O' It’s hard to find Michelob Amberbock. That was the one we used to bring home from the US each summer.

Yeah, I s'pose
Its on the shelf down here
May not be the best, but its the best for me
A good IPA works too

Back when I was a more serious drinker, Laphroaig was hard to get 'hold of

backyard hummingbirds
iu

as I pour more wine

two hummingbirds sip their own...

tonight's happy hour

I can't tolerate alcohol as it gives me migraines although a small drink once in awhile is ok (like 1/4 of an ounce). I like my "recreational" stuff as it gives me the buzz that alcohol would be without the head pain. Now that hubby is retired too; we partake every day. This will change in the future when we can finally join other living souls and entertainment (trips, etc.) after the vaccine, etc., etc., etc.

Edited to say: I don't have any trouble sleeping.

Do a search on Sweetamine . Read the reviews
I used to wake up at night with pain in my hands.
Sometimes I cannot make a fist.
The sweetamine changed everything. Plus recovery times from injuries are faster.
Does it make you sleepy? I have no trouble sleeping. I just have pain and only use Tylenol.

In summer, its when I'm done working and thirsty
Prolly around sundown
That'd be Michelob Amberbock of late
A bottle or two

The hard stuff has been Glenmorangie
Been trying to kill that jug of single malt for a couple years
I don't pull that cork unless I have company

Guess I don't drink that much anymore

Learned a long time ago, happy hours are not all that happy
.....at least in bars
They really should change that moniker
Maybe fight night
Still got a couple bends in my nose from happy hours

Anymore, I prefer water

...or sun tea

Here you go, Gary

I only drink to get drunk, and I only do that maybe once a week... usually margaritas. So no happy hour for me.

I'm usually pretty relaxed in the evening, so I don't really need anything to calm me down. I tend to have a bit of anxiety in the morning. Maybe I should have a happy hour during breakfast.

I have anxiety all day,so can't figure out when to schedule happy hour.

I don’t drink and never have, parents drank. I have pain pills, I get steroid shots in the spine for pain.

My happy hour will come when Bella, bad dog, bad, quits biting me. 😂. Otherwise, I very happy on my walks, dogs barking, birds singing, traffic noise, the windy in the trees, the sun on my face=happy hour.

...too many great replies to single one out to quote! ;)
I haven't changed the happy hour routine yet, but I have noticed that I get better quality sleep now that I've cut back on the vodka going into my "Keto Mojito". I was putting 4 oz, now just 3, but I still get the analgesic effect with less sleep disturbance.

My Keto Mojito recipe is:

Code:
Vodka
Club soda
Lime
Ice

@J.B Books , I went to Amazon and searched Sweetamine, and all these others popped up. I forgot about Sweetamine, but got this:

$12.96 for 8.8 oz or approx 250 servings. A serving is 1/4 tsp. up to 3 per day. It's not sweet enough for coffee, but I mix it in anyway. It's supposed to help your body's insulin break down sugar to some extent. Didn't make me sleepy. A friend swears it "improves his mood". We'll see.

I almost never drink alone. Too me, having a drink anytime is a social event. Due to the fact that everyone these days are busy "worshiping at the Covid Temple" there is no Happy Hour where I live for months. We are still Code Red. Our lovely common room is locked & off limits to everyone. Life sucks; if you ask me! I got Scotch, I got rum & I got about 35 bottles of wine but all of it is gathering dust. What a "bloody" shame!

That's GREAT.

I just found that sweetamine is measured right, easy to use packets, mixed with Stevia to make it sweet, and formula absorbs into the body better.
You need to take it for a few days before noticing a lot of pain relief.
