Yesterday we took a bunch of pictures.. Some nice ones of me with my sons. I finally felt good about smiling... widely.. because I now have really pretty teeth... YEY!! And I'm no longer in pain.. However, WOW.... what a smile does.. I have some pretty huge wrinkles around my eyes.. particularly at the bridge of my nose.. (I guess they call them "bunny lines") Cute name... but they look awful. Now.... I know that one little prick with a tiny needle and a syringe of botox and a few hundred dollars would fix that. I'm tempted... really tempted.. lol!!
 

Lines on our faces are what give us "character". Have you seen some of those pics of people who get really tight facelifts and lots of botox? They can't show any emotion at all. Are they smiling? Are they frowning? If I had the money, I'd definitely get my eyes lifted, though. Pretty soon, I'm going to have to clip my eyelashes to my eyebrows to be able to see....lol.
 
I wouldn't get a facelift... Those are gross... Still a little less of the character lines would be just fine with me. I have decided to work 2 more years and I don't want to look like an old lady. So I'm vain.... lol!! Botox or fillers aren't permanent.. So in two years, I can let more of the "character" show though.
 

I don't have wrinkles.

They are simply like the stripes I wore in the military.

They indicate my rank, seniority and experience and that I am not to be messed with!

I wouldn't opt for it, but that's really a personal decision so it's up to you. I don't think it's very healthy, and the worse thing I see is people getting botox for the lips and come out looking like different people. Maybe less wrinkly, but they lose their facial look.

I always knew I'd wrinkle with age, and that didn't stop me from baking in the sun in my youth, but I'd rather be wrinkly and still look like myself, than have an odd look of someone else. Of course, if it's not the upper lip, maybe it wouldn't make much difference in appearance. I can understand that you're on a roll, after having you teeth done...but if it were me, I'd give a bit more time for consideration.
 
I guess if you get botox done by someone that does a good job, it will look ok, but, so many of the people I've seen, something just looks weird about their face, maybe too much bo or tox and leave the lip fillers alone. I don't watch the shows, but have glances once or twice, ever see the women on the Housewife reality tv shows, not good. I'll take the breast lifts though. LOL

But then, I haven't wrinkled yet, and barely have grows feet so maybe if I did I probably wouldn't be so quick to say no to botox. I wouldn't mind erasing these bags that appear under my eyes when I get worn out or the dark undereye marks. But none of it concerns me to a great degree. But, I don't fault those that wish to make subtle changes if they feel so inclined.

I love the beach and will continue spending time there, I do have a beach tent and wear my sunscreen, but, not giving up my time out in the sun.
 
I don't think I've seen a gal that's had a few tucts that wasn't marked (maybe they've had one tuck too many ). I prefer the wrinkles and the personality that says I earned every one of them. And the same for men. Call them character lines.
 
Quicksliver go for it and good luck. Feeling as good as you can about yourself is important and as you say, Botox and fillers aren't as expensive or permanent as a facelift.
 
I guess it's been 10 years now that I had blepharoplasty done. That's when the doctor removes the fat pockets under the patient's eyes and also raises his eyebrows. Mine was successful, but anyone that is considering having this done should only consider a surgeon that has plenty of experience, otherwise, you could end up looking like Kenny Rogers did after his first blepharoplasty. He has it pretty well straightened out now, but his first job made him look like he was in pure shock all the time. His eyes were so wide open, it was a horrible job.

Everyone thought it made me look 15 years younger, but that wasn't the reason I had it done. I just wanted the fat pockets under the eyes taken off, so I wouldn't look like I was so tired all the time.

That wouldn't be an option for me.. I look like I have dark circles, but it itsn't fat pads.. It's because I have deep eye sockets.. I have always had to use plenty of dark circle concealer. Therefore, I would proabley need a filler injected under my eyes to correct that appearance. But I'm not to that point.. I would just like a few wrinkles gone.. Like the furrow between my eyes and th Marionette lines by my mouth. I see nothing wrong with trying to look as good as you can for as long as you can. I KNOW I have charactor.. I don't need to show it on my face. lol!
 
We've talked about this before and I said then that I would have a face lift if I had a spare 15 grand laying around, I'm vain too...I know ladies that have had it done and look very good.

Botox costs by the unit.. I believe in Chicago its $14 to $17 a unit. An entire Syringe of it costs $500 TO $750. To do the top of the nose and the furrow would be about $300 to $400. So it's not anywhere near as bad as a facelist. However, a botox injection isn't permanent. It lasts about 6 to 8 months... then you need a booster shot. lol!

I see my dematologist every year for a complete skin check. Her practice includes 5 other derms. They are all board certified in Cosmetic Dermatology which includes botox, fillers, and laser abrasion, as well as Surgical Dematology.

Jujube-that is considered a medically necessary surgery and insurances (including Medicare) will pay for it. My bff worked for an Opthomologist for 20 years and assisted with this surgery all the time. Another friend`s mom recently had it done under Medicare-we were just discussing it the other night.
