With regard to the OP's question, I don't know if people here consider my volunteer work as being kind or something else. I do try to help folks where I can. During non-COVID times, as a volunteer I taught English as a second language along with math and computer skills to immigrant folks through the local library system. Hopefully, when/if we get past COVID-19, I hope to do that again.
I also keep folks in our condo association's computers running, again as a volunteer and also serve a number of functions for the association such as being on the board most of the time I have lived here, managing the key FOBs and garage door openers and the controlling computer system, the security camera system, etc. We have 72 units, so that is a task that often requires me to help folks who have lost their FOBs and/or garage door openers, replace those that have broken, arrange to replenish the supply through our management company, etc.
When somebody in our association is sick or otherwise incapacitated, I run errands such as picking up medicines for them, taking them to the doctor, and such.
As far as I am concerned, I prefer believe any decent person would do these things, or at least hope they would. We don't have to live in a condo association to do this since we all have neighbors unless we live way out in the country and off the grid.
I see that one person considered my earlier post of Harry Potter, "sad". It was simply a light-hearted post, nothing more. Judge me as you will. We don't really know each other, so I suppose I can't expect everybody to take posts as they were intended. Thankfully, others did see the humor in it.
