Ten people killed in Boulder, Colo shooting

Ten people shot down. That's not even "Breaking News", now. By Friday, there'll be at least another 10 kills. Jeesh. Who even bothers if less than 20 are wiped out, anymore? We've got more important issues to worry about, like arming 6 month fetuses with concealed gun permits.

I was just saying to my family the other day, that this pandemic is and will be responsible for a lot of mental health issues... and I wonder if this and the last victims in Atlanta are caused by those who have lost the plot due to the year long lockdown...
@hollydolly I believe this is true. I also think that this, and a multitude of other things can bring a person to a kind of sick madness.

If the pandemic isn't "the" cause, it certainly contributes in these days!

I believe many of the mass shooters are deeply and darkly affected by drugs now laced with a drug that causes depression, anxiety, and paranoia. I think it's called Fentanyl if I remember correctly. It's been awhile since I read about it.

The article was talking about how drug dealers are approaching young people (and sometimes older) as though they want to be their friend, offering them "Free drugs" that are highly addictive and laced with this terrible Fentanyl drug. Then charge them when they are addicted.

Anyway, the combination of depression, anxiety, and paranoia...not to mention the dark stuff they watch on their computers, political hatred, sensationalism in the media, etc. is what's causing them to execute these horrific plans of mass murders.

Regarding Aunt Marg's question...the 2nd amendment has little to do with it other than the guns that have those rapid fire multiple rounds of bullets...those should be banned (although not all murderers use that). These murderers will find a way no matter what the regulations. Most know how to make their own bombs from the internet.

@Lara, I wouldn't doubt it!

The lack of respect and love for others has been traced to computer games, actually, where multiple people are killed, and children/young adults, seem to get their realities confused. Add the isolation of COVID-19 and it may further confuse the issues.
With all due respect, @Aneeda72 I think those are just plain excuses for their actions. These people are born with alot of hatred and evil. You don't see me killing people due to the pandemic isolation and I've been staying home and letting my facial hairs GROW. ;)

Sorry but a devout Christian would not be killing people.
When Americans have had enough they will raise up and demand some gun controls. When the constitution was written those people had no idea the US would have so many people ...300+million , nor did they begin to know what kind of weaponry would be available to those 300+millions!

Sorry devout Christians have a long history of killing people in the name of Jesus Christ, their religion, and God. History confirms this.

I agree about drugs, but you mention the wrong types of drugs. It is Prescription drugs that are the bigger problem:

Here we go again! Same old story, just a different location and maybe a different number of dead. I probably saw this on an old western but the line was, "You Live By the Gun, You Die By the Gun." I don't mean to be insensitive to the families of the victims but this is not the end. It's a way of life in the "Good Ole' USA." Whenever this happens, there is an out cry but nothing ever gets done. It just goes on and on and on and on. There is another mass shooting coming soon to a location near you and there very little you can do about it. They say the American Rifle Association is one of the strongest gun lobbies in the USA. However, there is a very strong inertia for any meaningful change. I certainly don't have any advice on this very sad situation. That is why we elect leaders. Perhaps they aren't doing their jobs. I don't know. A lot of violence right on the TV every night. A lot of drugs, a lot of domestic violence. Hey, maybe too many people. It's a mess!

Bingo, exactly, Packer.

"Live by the gun, die by the gun".

It certainly is a contributing factor where I am living where the restrictions are so oppressive. It doesn't help that many doctors are pulling their patients off anxiety medication during these draconian times of unparalleled stress. I mean come on. It's small wonder grown men are openly weeping in their cars and everybody is killing everybody. A woman and her 12 year old daughter were "found" dead in a city not far from where I live. The investigation is ongoing. Plus there were 2 murder (suicides?) over last weekend twentyish and teens. People are cracking up here. This is all so heartbreaking.

"Killing people in the name of Jesus Christ?" Could you post a source for that please from scripture? Jesus Christ did not appear until the New Testament and was the one who suffered so Forgiveness could be possible. Jesus Christ was all about love.

Plus, there's no way you can judge who is a "devout Christian" and who isn't. No one knows the answer to that except God.

P.S....Forget Covid. There are no more mass murders after Covid than there were before Covid.

I think I agree. Its not Jesus who recommends killing. It's the people who twist his words of love and forgiveness into hate. God Help Us.

From what I'm reading about this guy his family said he was bullied pretty badly in high school and became paranoid and anti-social.
I doubt his act had any religious motivation and he was just a disturbed and pissed off individual.
Time will tell as more is revealed.
