What??? 🙄

Important; I’m adding this as an interesting supplement that seems to help many common health issues so I thought I’d add a bit of information since it seems like such surprising, information. I also understand that most people are conventional thinkers so this doesn’t sit right with them. This then isn’t for you.

It’s certainly interesting. It is so potent in vitamin c and e that it gives energy and helps build up the immune system. Perfect for Covid 19 and general overall health.

It apparently dilates the blood vessels to create better circulation and lower blood pressure

It’s anti inflammatory so is a natural pain reducer.

It’s been known to help patients with diabetes by lowering blood sugar.

Note: I’m not suggesting this product for any of these disorders. Contact your doctor before considering taking any natural supplement.

I’m adding it for others who might find it interesting since I know there are many on this site who appreciate using all natural substances wherever and whenever possible.

You must mean anti inflammatory? Anything inflammatory would cause greater damage/pain. I've never taken this myself but pine is a natural source of vitamin C and I'm open to all natural remedies. :giggle:

Yes. My bad. It’s anti inflammatory.
Ive been taking it for 5 days now and my energy levels have improved greatly. Due to the medication I’m currently on, I seemed to be tired all the time; a side effect I wasn’t enjoying. My mind feels less foggy too which I like but mainly I wanted to boost up my immunity to help protect myself from this virus.

This is interesting Keesha, many years ago a product
came to our supermarkets in many things, Margarine,
yoghurt and yoghurt drinks.

I thought that your one was the same, but the one we
have is from Pine Wood Pulp, it is sold as a method of
lowering cholesterol, plus a few other fixes, though not
too many.

Benecol is the name of these products, you probably have
them in your store too.

There is more to pine than we knew previously.

Mike.

I think it is also called pygenol or similar on the spelling I have taken two 450mg and formally 8000 mg of l-arginine and 1500 l-citrilline for 10 years every day....but the last year I have cut the l- arginine to 4000 mg...this alone causes some plumpiness of the pee wee and therefore I know that is working on my arteries ---I take some other blood heart related supplements with that ...but that is the engine for my libido and the way I measure my heart health needs...

It’s actually called pycnogenol and is used to balance blood sugar , improve erectile dysfunction, boosts anti oxidants , reduces inflammation and improves brain function.

It’s especially good for increasing blood flow which can help many health issues.

You seem to have done your research. 🙂

While I lived in the forest, I made pine needle tea with white pine needles which are not toxic. It is important not to boil the needles though. Pouring boiling water onto the needles instead. I used honey for sweetening. I love the pine fragrance and would bring in a branch to make the house smell good. It was used for scurvy by the Iroquois and early settlers. If I was feeling like I was catching a cold or something, I'd make some tea and drink it all day. It did give me more energy too.

It’s not pine wood pulp. It’s pine bark extract. Very different substances for very different purposes.

Pine wood dust is used to separate grated cheese in the supermarkets. You’d never think wood dust would be in cheese but it is.

I used Pycnogenol (Pine Bark) for quite awhile, many years ago. During that time I also used Oregon Grape. So many of these herbs and supplements have good health benefits. I've always switched out on most things, can't take everything at once, so when I tried something else, I usually dropped something. Anything that reduces inflammation, generally reduces pain that's caused by inflammation, and that's always a good thing. I currently use MSM and Turmeric, among other things for inflammation prevention. Your post brought back some old memories. 💚

Dont you just love the smell of pine needles in hot water?

Yes the Iroquois Indians and early settlers used it for its potent vitamin c content.

Very cool. I feel like such a hippy 😎 lol

Another possible benefit in addition to Keeshas research.
I take Pycnogenal French Maritime Pine Bark (the wording on the bottle) in a supplement to prevent or slow down the progress of Glaucoma. And protect the Retina. Now that I think about it it is probably helpful because of the improved blood circulation benefit she mentioned

I’m the same way. I try different things and switch them often. For a while I used MSM and diatomaceous earth but now I’m using more fresh herbs and spices in my foods and it’s super exciting since I’m also learning how to can foods. It’s really fun. I’ve now got freshly made chicken stew, turkey stew & sliced meat. Tomorrow it’s fresh spaghetti sauce.

Taking natural inflammatory foods and supplements makes such a HUGE difference to overall body pain. It’s not surprising that eating too much sugar and processed food causes inflammation and inflamed cells seem to create disease.

I really like how I can add supplements to our dogs food while I’m making it. It makes a big difference to their health also.

A while ago I watched a bit about how it helps eyes and sinuses in general. It was suggested for people with migraines, congestion and sinus problems as well as problems in the eyes like you mentioned. I’m trying to get my husband to take them for his eye health. He has a degenerative eye disease. Anything to help prevent or slow down any eye problems is worth investigating.

Having said all that I’m not recommending this for anyone. Its just a discussion.

Good for you Keesha, I never got into canning at all, but I admire those who do. I slip my pets supplements now and then when needed, like Krill Oil, Omega 3 Fish Oil, Glucosamine and MSM for my old dog when he had arthritis. When my cat had some hairball issues, I was giving him some Slippery Elm, not sure if it helped. These days I give him a drop of light olive oil with his 1/3 can of wet food daily, that seems to help.

Well you sure know what you’re doing. That’s awesome. We’ve also got a glucosamine liquid supplement for our 14/15 year old Yorkie. Her joints are getting worn and this stuff sure helps her keep going.

Slippery Elm!!!! Oh! I forgot about that stuff. It would be great for our dogs mouth. Oh thanks for reminding me about it.

I add two drops of oil of oregano into their food to help with the teeth infection under the direction of their holistic veterinarian.
That stuff is strong. Our dogs get quite a bit of olive oil since that’s how I start out cooking their food. I roast garlic first then the vegetables, yams, stock and meat. Some info claims garlic is bad for dogs but I’ve read the opposite: that in moderate amounts, it’s healthy for them. I don’t give them onion though. I think that is poisonous to dogs.

I'm checking this out. Anything that gives me energy is welcome. However, I'm on so many medications I'd better check out the interactions.
