A lovely male Yellowhammer in the Spring Hawthorn this lunchtime.

We've had a serious run on Pine Siskins this year. It started last fall, when typically we see the last of the Pine Siskins visiting our feeding station, but October came and went last year and instead of dwindling numbers of Siskins, they just kept increasing, to the point of nearly 100, and it remained that way until January.Cool.
I love enjoying the birds. BUT increased reports of salmonella being transmitted via feeders and baths has me no longer attracting them to the yard. Oh sure I could step up my efforts in cleaning but I'm too lazy for that so will just enjoying them when and wherever they gather.
