Today is the 95th Birthday of our Queen, sadly just days after the death of her husband.. it must be hard to bear!!

Typically the Queen's birthday is marked with a 21-gun salute fired by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery from either Hyde Park or Green Park, followed by a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London by the Honourable Artillery Company.

This year it will not take place, marking the second year in a row the monarch has eschewed the tradition.

The Queen last year decided the celebratory display of military fire-power would not be 'appropriate' as the UK was in lockdown with thousands dead from the coronavirus outbreak.

Happy Birthday Your majesty... May you live long...

The Queen’s Official Birthday Parade or Trooping the Colour as it’s more commonly called which was scheduled for June 12th has been cancelled this year too. An alternative parade in the quadrangle at Windsor Castle similar to last year’s parade is being discussed

I was fortunate to see her as she was driven past where I worked, in the 60's. She smiled at all of us young women who ran up the street to wave at her - and she waved back!

God Bless Our Queen!
Me too..I was about 12 or 13 I think when she came past where I lived one beautiful sunny day . We all stood out on the pavement to watch the cavalcade go by, I'd seen that shiny Burgundy open top car before on tv , but I had absolutely no idea how huge it was in real life, I'd never seen a car that big.

I remember she was wearing pink and we were so close to her car as she waved to us as they went by...
