My parents gave me my first stereo for Christmas. It was a made of plastic, and the speakers fit on top of the turntable. It was very cheap, but it sure played music.
I always wanted the red one, but I had the blue & grey one...My first record player wasn't a stereo. It was one of these ..

Good to see you @asp3I had a small cassette player that wasn't stereo that I wore out a copy of Creedence Clearwater Revival's Cosmo's Factory on. Other than that I played records on my folks stereo.
My first real stereo was a Fisher (or was it Fischer) receiver and amp, a B & O turntable and huge Fisher speakers with 17" woofers. I worked for my father and paid for the stereo myself with the money I earned. I used to love going to the stereo store and seeing all of the cool new components. I also used to have dual cassette decks that I could make copies of tapes on.
yes I had a reel to reel player... and an 8 track... when I was about 17 or 18 ......I had a friend who had a reel-to-reel player
My dansette never had any detachable speakers, just asked hubs and his didn't either...I worked my tail off to buy one like this, only it had two detachable speakers. I planted Christmas trees and helped neighbor bring his hay in for the winter. Walked into Montgomery Ward and paid cash for it.

A fine choice of music John.My first record player was called "Seabreeze." I remember the 1st LP I played on it. It was "He'll Have To Go" by Jim Reeves.
That was my favorite album back then. Loved CCR.I had a small cassette player that wasn't stereo that I wore out a copy of Creedence Clearwater Revival's Cosmo's Factory on. Other than that I played records on my folks stereo.
