You're a time-traveler. Would you go to the past or the future?

Gaer

"Angel whisperer"
I would go to Wales,16th century, France 13th century,1950's see some famous baseball games, Vienna 1900, visit my old hometown and wade in the Yellowstone river. I would try to meet Shakespeare, Einstein, Mark Twain, Ulysses Grant, I would follow around the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Rembrant, Waterhouse, Evelyn De Morgan, Bernini, Di Vinci, Rodin. When I had my fill of the past, I would go 1000 years into the future. I'm excited to see what is ahead!

So, You can only remain on this world,
you can change nothing of any consequence and bring nothing with you .
You can return with nothing.
Wherever you go, you can spend as much time as you want.
Where would you want to go?
If linear time existed, would you go forward or backward?

Gaer, ah yes, U.S. Grant, Ohio born and raised. I have toured his birth home and his boyhood home in southern Ohio. Out of all the Ohio born President's I would have loved to meet him before the others.

Did you know at one time his portrait graced the $1.00 bill (with Lincoln). An 1899 Black Eagle!

I'd go back in time to the Roman Empire (27 BC – AD 476).

I'd wine and dine with the five good Emperors, be custom fitted for an Empress toga, luxuriate in the Roman Baths, and come back with stories, some of which I would tell about... with others my secret.

If it's guaranteed I'd come back alive I'd go back to the time of Neanderthal and Homo-Sapiens to see for myself what theories are correct. Otherwise, forward to 50 years from now. Me and my youngest grandkids would be almost the same age.

I'd be saying, "Oh, wow, your back hurts? Told ya!"
50 years? post World War III. You better learn to speak Chinese!

Sorry Marg, I fought the Romans in a past life. I'd hate to relive that!

Yes, Told you guys already, I'm weird!

Of course, we all know that time travel is impossible.

If it were possible, we would have been visited already by people from the future.

That said, I have no interest in the future. Would definitely check out the past, from ancient Greece and Rome to medieval England to the days of the American Revolution. Would also like to revisit the early 60s to see what it looks like from my current perspective.

Back in time & over centuries with recording equipment to document what isn't known now about the earth's population. Documenting the evolution of mankind, plants, animals & insects.

Since the future is unknown, I would not want to go there because I suspect it would be worse than the present. There is way too much conflict now, and with an ever increasing world population, it's bound to get worse.

Back in time, I would accompany Lewis & Clark on their journey across America to the Pacific Ocean. I love exploration and seeing things for the first time. Imagine sleeping under the stars before before light pollution.
