The Venerable Heathkit TA-17 Piggyback Guitar Amplifier

I built a good number of Heathkit kits in the 60s but never a guitar amp. Loved their stuff. I had the most fun with one of these:

Isn't that their computer? I tried to assemble their 2 meter portables, of course it didn't work out too well since I never even thought to get the test equipment to calibrate the damn things. I miss those days. I believe Lafayette and Radio Shack/Knight had electronic kits too.

Yes, sir, it was their analog computer. Also had one of their oscilloscopes but most of my hi-fi/stereo gear was Allied Radio's Knight Kit stuff.

I think ITT had a radio course where they would send you bite sizes quizzes and some kits to build. Like The Wayback Machine there are a couple of websites that have all those type of catalogs archived. I gotta dig some of them out and post them. Take care.
