This is a terrible affliction, yet I never heard of it till Stephen Hawkins
publicised it and still gave meaningful lectures from a wheelchair, now
I hear of lots of people who have it, is it an old disease renamed, or is it
something modern, I wonder.

Here is the colonies, it is referred to as ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or more commonly as Lou Gehrig disease. My first wife died from it about 20 years ago.

I'm so sorry your wife died from this horror of a condition, poor woman, .. and that you and your family went through this with her, ....

MND is the umbrella term for many neurological diseases...and ALS is just one of them..

Horrible conditions.. for anyone to suffer...

(Much like Alzheimers is the umbrella term.. and Dementia is just one of the conditions)

I have heard of Lou Gehrig disease, from long ago, I wonder
why they thought it needed a new name, thank you for the
