Everyone enjoy...

I just read that whole thread and I can understand why @old medic left. There were many very intentional remarks but to name just a few...the over-the-top attack against old medic's country and it's people was way beyond appropriate. To post charts comparing all of our member's countries for the purpose of pitting one country against all the others is not nice.

To blame old medic's country for a single road rage death is wrong. To say to old medic, "you don't want to hear the truth?" was provoking him into a fight. He was smart to walk away but I do hope he reconsiders and returns.

The Ignore feature is truly a blessing. It hides posts from people you've put on ignore. But you can always easily read what's been hidden by the ignore feature via the "Show ignored content" link at the bottom right of the page.

If you are not enjoying being at a place, either real or internet-virtual; it may be best to just leave. That said, internet forums should be taken for what they are- just a forum to speak your mind, not a intellectual or emotional struggle. Most folks know you can't expect everyone to think like you do. That would really be boring.

yes but most folks don't come into these places expecting people to be so hostile and hateful either. i don't understand why people feel the need to be so. you can disagree without being so rude and mean. some people don't understand that.

Nothing wrong with stating a strong opinion. However, there is no need for rudeness when opposing another's opinion. Ah, but this is the internet, where people aren't face-to-face. That shouldn't make a difference though.

One of the traits of people with sociopathic or psychopathic disorders is their ability to be quite glib, smooth and charming, either in person or over the internet. By contrast, normal people can be a bit more rough and sometimes even a little rude. Although I too dislike rudeness, I am old enough to understand that it happens and suspicious of those who're "too smooth". Over-the-top or continual rudeness is stuff for the mods to deal with, so I don't give it much thought.
