Fauci ‘not convinced’ COVID developed naturally, backs investigation

Dr. Anthony Fauci, a top adviser to President Biden on the coronavirus pandemic, said he’s “not convinced” the deadly virus developed naturally and has called for further investigations into where it emerged.

Fauci was asked during a Poynter event, “United Facts of America: A Festival of Fact-Checking,” earlier this month about whether he was confident that COVID-19 developed naturally.

“No actually. I am not convinced about that. I think we should continue to investigate what went on in China until we continue to find out to the best of our ability what happened,” Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, said, according to Fox News.

“Certainly, the people who investigated it say it likely was the emergence from an animal reservoir that then infected individuals, but it could have been something else, and we need to find that out. So, you know, that’s the reason why I said I’m perfectly in favor of any investigation that looks into the origin of the virus,” he added.

The coronavirus was first reported in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019, and many believe it could have begun in a lab there and escaped.

Fauci was pressed on that theory during a Senate hearing on May 11 and said he would support a further investigation during an exchange with Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kansas).

“Do you think it’s possible that COVID-19 arose from a lab accident … in Wuhan, and should it be fully investigated?” Marshall, a doctor, asked Fauci.

“That possibility certainly exists, and I am totally in favor of a full investigation of whether that could have happened,” he replied.

A few months after the start of the pandemic last year, Fauci said the virus most likely “evolved in nature and then jumped species,’’ as opposed to being “artificially or deliberately manipulated.”

The article is continued, I didn't copy the rest as it turns political.

I'm not surprised. Whether any consequences are suffered by the Chinese government or research labs will be required to enforce stricter protocols in the future? That's way above my pay grade.

It will serve nobody, least of all me, if I get all revved up about this. Mind you, I'm not saying it's right if indeed this was an escaped, manipulated virus, just that I'm not going to choose this particular hill to die on. There are other causes nearer and dearer to my heart.

The bottom line is that the virus is everywhere and its dangerous. Knowing its genesis won't change my behavior toward it.

I believe top echelon are already aware of the true origins of Covid-19, it's just being kept from the general public.

Stringing the world along makes it seem like someone cares (up above) when in actuality, the case has been closed and we will never know.

Dr. Fauci has been real careful how he chooses his words re:Wuhan lab because I read that he donated several hundred thousand dollars (either directly or indirectly) to Wuhan Institute not long before the pandemic started.

My understanding is that Fauci contacted Bill Gates about donating $ toward virus mutation studies. Bill Gates looked into it and got real enthusiastic about it and donated a million dollars (or 2) which Fauci invested on Gates's behalf, possibly through a 3rd party. $600,000 was donated to the Wuhan Institute and the rest went to a few other university labs.

If that's what happened, I don't believe Gates or Fauci had any ill-intent, the investment was just really ill-timed and the decision to invest in Wuhan was just plain dumb. But it would explain why all these rumors started flying around about Bill Gates, and why Fauci was so stressed out and not feeling so well while the number of cases sky-rocketed world-wide.

IMO, Fauci and Gates are two, dangerous individuals - too much money, too into themselves, too political and too little common sense.

I'm not real sure they're actually bad people except to the extent that money and power can make you do bad things. Like, I wouldn't call either of them villians (yet). But, yeah, I don't think they possess a lot of common sense.

I wouldn't say they're "bad" but would have questions about the "good" given the extent of people that were in Jeffrey Epstein's circle.,
