I am a Virgo.

I have studied Astrology for 50 years. I have interpreted 100's of Natal Birth Charts. (In person only). It is a soft science, and many tests have shown that there is something going on. I encountered it when living in a commune when I was 17 and the leader asked me to patch his Log a-frame hut with mud. While inside I saw a couple books on Astrology and read something that talked about Virgos' present influences. That hooked me. The language to describe the human experience was much wider and colorful than any other I had read. Story: About 20 years ago I was having a beer at a pub and sitting next to me was a middle aged Psychologist. I told him I like Astrology better than Psychology. He says that is stupid because it is a pseudoscience. I then asked him if I could guess his Sign in 4 guesses wouldn't it show some statistical "proof". He said yes. I said your either a Pisces or Virgo. The guy was shocked and speechless. He was a Virgo. Just lately John Boehner was in the news. I said he is a Capricorn, Scorpio, or Gemini. He is a Scorpio, with two personal planets in Gemini, and a small stellium in Capricorn. :)

Today, Mars in Cancer opposes Pluto = power struggles and fights not helped by the Moon which will be in Aries til 5pm EST. Mercury, planet of communication, is retrograde in Gemini. Anything I say today can be misinterpreted and get me in trouble so I'm going to be quiet for once.

What's my sign? 🤗

The results of the present position of the planets' influences the entire planet with varying effects. You have described your plan to deal with those effects. There are a billion more life forms that are adapting to the same influences, but in different ways. It would ignorant of me to presume I could determine your Sun sign from your question. :) Sounds rather logical, no?
For me these influences of the planets is like part of my sixth sense. So I am never not sensing these influences. I do not like predictive astrology. Or cookbook astrology. For me it is like the color spectrum (of which I have correlated with the Zodiac)

color wheel.jpg
The bottom is the Winter Solstice, the longest night, Purple, Capricorn. The left is the Spring Equinox, night and day are equal, Blue, Aries. The top Is the Summer Solstice, the longest day, Yellow, Cancer. The right is the Autumn Equinox, day and night are equal, Red, Libra.

I just read about Sagittarius of which I am one. Some of it applies and some doesn't, so if you focus on what is, you are a believer, and if you focus on what isn't, you are a skeptic. https://www.astrology-zodiac-signs.com/zodiac-signs/sagittarius/

Cookbooks are great when you are learning how to cook. I learned from a superb chef...in 5 years I was told to throw away the cookbooks unless absolutely necessary for reference. Cooking then became an art, and the experience I had with actually cooking the more I knew what I was doing. So after having learned the basics in Astrology, I have been reading 100's of charts and discussing this with others. Practice makes perfect! :) (from a Virgo) Ha!

Astrology is bunkum. I am surprised anyone claims otherwise.

As Carl Sagan famously said:

“How could the rising of Mars at the moment of my birth affect me, then or now? I was born in a closed room. Light from Mars couldn’t get in. The only influence of Mars which could affect me was its gravity. But the gravitational pull of the obstetrician was much larger than the gravitational influence of Mars. Mars is a lot more massive, but the obstetrician was much closer.”

“Astrology can be tested by the lives of twins. There are many real cases like this: one twin is killed in childhood in, say, a riding accident or struck by lightning, while the other one lives to a prosperous old age. Supposed that had happened to me. My twin and I would have been born in exactly the same place and within minutes of each other, exactly the same planets would be rising at our births. If astrology were valid, how would we have such profoundly different fates?”

Aires on the cusp of Taurus. I have a lot of planets in fire and cardinal signs, Ascendant is Taurus. Looks like a lot of square aspects.

You have a square between Mercury and Uranus. Venus opposes Saturn and squares Chiron. Jupiter squares the Moon and your Midheaven. Venus and Mercury appear to be in conjunction but I would need to see degrees to be sure. Uranus also squares Saturn.

You have the same Ascendant as I do. It's a good one. :giggle:

I have Parker's Astrology which has an ephemeris in it. These are the specific degrees for the major planets:

Sun - 26.9 in Aries
Moon - 21.9 in Capricorn
Mercury - 8.9 in Aries
Venus - 8.7 in Aries
Mars - 15.3 in Scorpio
Jupiter - 27.8 in Aries
Saturn - 10.3 in Libra
Uranus - 10.2 in Cancer
Neptune - 20.9 in Libra
Pluto - 19.8 in Leo

I only have one planet in an Earth sign and none in Mutable signs.

I am a Scorpio...I do not really have a lot of knowledge about astrology. However, from the limited reading I have done, I do believe there is some truth within the field. It makes sense to me that the alignment of the planets on the day you were born could have some influence on your life. I just am very skeptical about many of the readings..
