A 21-year-old Amazon delivery woman viciously beat another woman, 67, who had called her a bi**ch after the San Francisco-area driver told her to 'check her white privilege' when she'd complained about a delayed package.

Itzel Ramirez, the Amazon driver, was arrested after she was filmed assaulting the woman in Alameda County, the sheriff’s office said on Friday.

Video posted to social media shows the unidentified victim from Castro Valley appearing to say something to the driver after she dropped off the packages in front of an entrance to Vista Creek Apartments at around 6pm on Thursday.

When working with the public one she be told never argue with customer. Ignore what ever they say. Can acknowledge you heard but don't argue or debate. I learned/was told that decades ago. Don't argue with the customer period. Unless they are physically assaulting you they are to be ignored when it comes to name calling, tirades, vents etc.

Did anyone scroll further down in that article to see the video of the second Amazon delivery driver, screaming his head off in his van ?

I see it but I don't understand what he's doing.
according to what the woman said who is filming.. he's been screaming like that for 30 minutes.. even when she asked if she might be able to help him.. he refused and continued to swear and scream. Obviously having some kind of breakdown IMO

..scary to think someone like that might be coming to your door next

I can certainly understand what might be happening to him. I'm sure those poor drivers have been through hell with COVID and likely forced to work more hrs than they could manage. After a while your brain goes into overdrive. I struggle sometimes with just the ordinary issues of customer service some days. I'm sure they get pushed a lot harder. I'm not excusing what he did but maybe he didn't even know he was in trouble till it was too late.

The problem is that we all have a chip on our shoulder about something and we don't know what to do about it. My "chip" stems from being denied access to interesting news bits from the daily mail because I have an ad blocker. "You will be subjected to brain-washing commercial propaganda .. or else!"

Never mind, I found it here:

Interesting that she completed the delivery anyway. One day some drug addict stole a huge box of things I was shifting during moving day. As luck would have it I came out just as the door slammed so I went out to see if I could catch him. I found him and my belongings a fair distance from the crime. The spineless b'stard made some excuse, "Oh, I didn't know ...bla, bla, bla." But when I tried to pick up the box I realized it was too heavy for me so I told him he'd have to carry it back for me. And he did it!

The following is only my opinion:

I also hold Amazon culpable for the actions of their employee. After all when a company's objective is to be absolute monopoly, the sole source of goods and services, shouldn't they have a responsibility to exercise due diligence in hiring and training employees?

True...we were just saying the same thing.I suspect that paying low wages means they don't make proper checks into employees backgrounds. I would hazzard a guess this isn't that young woman's first rodeo.. and probably has a rap sheet for assault

A quick Google search for my home state shows that Amazon delivery driver pay is about $62,000. No real skill involved, except driving. Customer-friendly attitude optional.

It's not low pay, it's a severe shortage of people willing and able to work.

Amazon uses alot of contractors to deliver for them. I don't if it's a franchise but basically the driver has to provide or buy a vehicle and gets a route or geographic area. I'm not sure if they have an amazon shirt or hat makes them a core/actually company hourly employee.
