#1. All I needed was to get the bracket for my front license plate that should have been on their when I bought the truck. Why wasn't it there? Like everything else they don't have any! I had to give them my info so when they do get some they will call me. Keep in mind how hard is it to stock frames made of plastic?
#2. This is really crazy. The technician I dealt with said now if they have a customer that wants a vehicle they don't have on their lot they no longer simply trade off with another dealer. Now they have to buy it at a price higher than the sticker! Of course the higher price gets passed on to the customer. I am so happy I bought mine in April.

Sounds like a glorified cash-grab to me, FM!

I think Texas is one of the many States which Require both Front and Rear license plates on a vehicle. As such, Any vehicle being sold in these States is probably required to have their vehicles properly equipped, at the time of sale. Check your State laws, and then go back to the dealer and see if they are willing to comply with the law.

Insofar as buying a car, or house....this is probably one of the Worst times, in decades, for buyers.

Why not just go to O'Reilly's Auto Parts, or someplace like that, and buy a bracket? Take it to the dealer
to drill in place if you don't want to ..... give them the receipt and maybe they will pay you. ⁉️

No, dealers bank on those kind of thoughts.

If that State law requires a front plate, then it is the dealers responsibility. Plain and simple. Let them go to an Auto parts house and get the bracket.

Can't they "borrow" a plate holder from another new truck on the lot and then replace it with the one ordered instead of making you wait?

Not happening. Anything else I can do FOR the dealership's shortages?

There are none on the lot. That's why it is called a shortage. Ford truck models have different configurations depending on the model.

Businesses don't work that way. That may have been possible 30 yeas ago but todays every kernel of corn is accounted for by the bean counters.

Follow up: After I paid the truck off in full I received the Lien Release and a statement from Ford. This cleared me to cancel an extended protection policy I took out for $3,990. Monday I faxed it to the person at the dealership using Home Depot but they did not give me a confirmation paper on the fax. I emailed the person at the dealership asking her to please confirm receipt of the fax. No response. I emailed her again a day later and again no response. Today I called here and she looked all though paperwork on someplace there ( I could hear searching as she was talking as she searched) and said, "Oh yes here it is. I'll process it and you should get the check in two weeks." As I am shaking my head and saying nothing I thanked her and hung up. So the fax sat there since Monday and the only reason it is moved today (Thursday) is my phone call. It appears more and more there is little sense of urgency or going above and beyond the job duties and responsibilities defined in their jobs. I saw this in the last few yeas in my working life. This is the second incident of employees their ignoring my requests for contact since I purchased the truck. Funny how "service" changes after you make the purchase.
