@SmoothSeas does your recipe call for Miracle Whip? If it doesn’t, could you link your recipe. Thanks.

Any recipe I’ve tried from the site has been ok, not spectacular.

You ever try making homemade tamales? Or pierogi's from scratch? How 'bout mole sauce?

While the end product may be great, all that labor-intensive prep work is exhausting...
I've never, NEVER made homemade tamales or homemade mole sauce. My sisters have. I never learned how to cook until I married. My mole sauce comes in a jar and I add my own special touch to it.

Mole from a jar? Is in good?? Could ya... Would ya... Share tour special touch...?

Now, you've got me really, really curious.

How interesting, that you cooked for a living, Smooth!

I used to work on tramp steamers, once I'd grained enough union seniority, I shipped as cook. Nothing fancy - it was institutional cooking - think hospital cafeteria type of food, rather than what you'd call haute cuisine.

The job had its upsides and its downsides - but the money was good, and I got a taste of the world.

Not on line, but I have a couple CopyCat recipes. The Appleby's Oriental salad with their dressing in INCREDIBLE!
You know what/ i have company coming here a few days. I'm going to get out my cookbooks!

Recipes: Lots of ingredients you have left over. Expensive if you don't use them all. Seasonings you may never use again. Prep time usually not worth it. End results are usually "good or OK but not great." Not worth the trouble.

I have looked and looked for my typed recipe and can't find it. I recently put alot of work in typing it all; step by step for various relatives and friends. I cannot find it anywhere and am not about to redo it. I will text my sister-in-law in the morning to see if she can resend to me a copy. :sneaky:

I wish I could find a copy cat recipe for Chick-fil-A's coleslaw recipe. They stopped serving it a few years ago.
