Man-purses: do you use them?

My wife has been getting treatment for a bad knee and I've been driving her all over town for it. So every time we go out, I bring my tablet, phone, eyeglasses, water bottle, earbuds, and some other stuff. I've been just putting everything into an old fanny pack that I bought in the early '90s, which works, but I saw some guy today who had one of those "man-purses." It looked more organized than my fanny pack.

So, do any guys out there use a man-purse?

They call them sling backpacks now. I just bought this one from Amazon for $15.

HAHA. I've heard someone call them a "Murse."
Reminds me of another new term for a man who has his hair in a bun: "Man Bun" or "Mun."

I bought a single strap backpack a while back, as I frequently hike, I typically pack several bottles of water, some kind of snack, a booster battery for the cell phone. Sometimes carry the iPad Mini too, as well as the cell phone. I guess it would qualify as a purse. Oh, I also put chapstick in it, so definitely a purse! :ROFLMAO:

Actually, the sling backpack I bought is a "tactical military outdoor bag," so it's a manly purse. :ROFLMAO:

During my life at different stages of it, I’ve used versions of what really constituted a “man-purse.” When a high school kid, I carried a book bag, which was essentially a small gym bag with handles. It carried several books and notebooks, enough for several class changes, saving you trips to your locker. Backpacks were common in college, used essentially there like a book bag. In the ‘80’s I occasionally used a fanny pack, useful on day trips when you’d be doing a lot of walking away from your car and needed to supplement what your pockets can carry. A briefcase I used daily as a working professionaL It could readily carry papers, notebooks, and forms for several meetings, and even a sandwich for lunch...quite handy! I’ve never used one, but messenger bags are similar but more compact, and can be carried by hand or slung over the shoulder. So we guys have our purses, but don’t call them that...not manly, you know... 😸

Man-purses: do you use them?

Uh, no

Everything I need I carry in my front pockets

Thin billfold
Money clip
Keys

Everything else remains in the truck tool box or cab
of which I have a smallish leather ring bound note pad
I'll take out a sheet of things I'm shopping for and put that
in.....you guessed it......my front pocket

I really don't see what the big deal is when it comes to people who are against men having a convenience that women have had for so long. I don't look at my purse as a fashion statement. I see it as a tool. A tool that men certainly have the right to use when they need it.

I use a back pack, at times.. I believe there is a difference in what men and women haul around. A guy will carry stuff he will need for that trip. But a woman will carry those things, but also things for the future-like twine, tiny tool kits, needle kit, extra Kleenex, packs of gum, etc.

That one looks like it has more padding on the strap than the one I ordered, so it's probably better for the trail.

I think my hiking days are over. There are just too many people wherever you go in Colorado that it takes the fun out of it. It's not exactly "getting away" from it all when it's like walking through Times Square.

Maybe 'cuz most men don't want to bother learning how to walk differently. :ROFLMAO:
