Denture Tablets for Laundry Stains

When I was researching how to wash the crocheted table cloth my mother made many decades ago, I found instructions calling for Denture Tablets. There was a stain on a table runner she’d also made. Found the tablets on sale at Walmart. They didn’t have any in stock in Dollar stores. I accidentally bought mint flavoured, not that anyone will be tasting the cloth.

I also heard that these tablets are good for getting rid of underarm stains so tossed in a white shirt. Soaked in extremely hot water overnight. It seemed a bit better so did a second night with more tablets.

There definitely was an improvement on both of them. Not perfect, but improved.

Does anyone else use this method?

We have a little processor we use daily to make dessert. Sometimes berries will stain the tan colored plastic, so the blade is dropped into a bowl with a couple of tablets and left overnight.

Now that I think of it, I have made a paste from one and used it to clean a spill on a shirt to avoid a stain.

I use them to clean coffee/tea stains in coffee cups. Also use denture cleaner tablets to remove stains from plastic (food) storage containers.

I've never used it on fabric, but will have to keep that in mind...

I've never tried that. I've tried Hydrogen Peroxide and it works good but denture tablets is something I need to try too.

I've never found anything that works.

I just put the vegetable dish over the wine stain, the platter over the gravy stain, and the breadbasket over the cigarette burn.

The stains on my tablecloths are happy reminders of get-togethers with family and friends.

I still have a couple of these little Copeland Spode dishes from the days when most people around the table smoked.
