Tom O'Connor has died.

Yes I read it about a week ago... hadn't heard anything about him in years. Transpired he's had PD for over a decade...Seemed like a genuinely nice chap..R.I.P Tom...
 
Not sure was widely known outside England.

Even here in Scotland, while recognized the name, I couldn't put a face to it until they showed some clips.

I guess I'm too parochial!

RIP Mr O'Connor. You doubtless gave pleasure to a lot of people.
 

Never heard of him. If I did years ago I must have forgot about him. Probably not well known here. I do miss Jack Benny and Bob Hope. We never missed their performances.
 
He was an English Comedian for a short time after winning a talent show..... a pleasant domestic comedian rather than someone hard hitting or hilariously funny...he hosted some TV quiz shows back in the 80's... Nice man but unfortunately quite forgettable in the great scheme of showbiz...

I've heard of Jack Benny, and seen little clips of him... but never really knew who he was. Bob Hope of course was a superstar..and one of our Cleverest and wittiest Comedians, the late and much loved Bob Monkhouse.. was one of Bob Hopes' joke writers in the early days...:D
