Shortages!

Our local Pizza Shop.
Everyone is suffering in this industry, and we are all working short numerous people each shift. Nobody wants to work! We have for the most part, had to stop offering delivery, in order to speed things up! We are running shifts with 2 people, that really require 4. As far as dough goes, yes, sometimes we run out as well. If you are busier than normal, it happens. It takes overnight for dough to proof, and you cant just proof it in a few minutes, or hours! You dont want to overdo because it doesn't last, then you have waste problems. Vicious circle, in very hard times. By all means, if anyone knows anyone that will work, send them to any of us around this area! Most of this is not mismanagement, it is lack of bodies willing to work!

Burger place
Yes Whataburger has a sign in there drive thru that some chicken items may not be available due to nationwide shortage.
Oh and I waited in that drive through just now for about 20 minutes for my chicken strips. Nice n hot when I got them. Oh wait should I not be happy about the wait.

Pharmacy
I think everything is short staffed, I went to get my kids ear prescription filled at Kroger, walgreens both had signs in window short staffed please come back after 4 the other day due to no pharmacist on duty please call for next available times. I ended up going to Neighborhood walmart.

We grabbed a bucket at KFC

All original

I so love KFC all original

Only.....it wasn't

They said it was

I said I know what all original tastes like

She said she's not the cook

I held my tongue, as I could see the three kids behind the counter were quite stressed
(shoulda been six)

I asked for spoons for our mashed potatoes and gravy (I so love their gravy)

She apologized and told me they don't hand out their plastic sporks unless they're asked for
(Company policy)

??????????????

The option is licking it out with yer tongue

She also apologized for not having the little margarine packets for the biscuits

I wouldn't wanna be involved in the restaurant business right now for no amount of money

Still, I'm gonna put together a little letter for regional

It’s the same here but the businesses seem to be dealing with it.

I think that the staff shortages will actually create an increase in productivity that will add to many businesses bottom line. It could also translate to higher wages for those hard working employees that helped to make it happen.

For large publicly traded companies that will fuel an increase in value for shareholders.

I don't know why yalls is having setch a shortage causin herein wese got good service and peeps a working...gas is about 3bucks a pop but aint got nutin to do with an unfinished pipeline but is rather the usual summer hike in price, got lots of toilet paper in stores, pizza place delivers, freeway traffic is very high, and smoke is thick enough to cut..

These shortages and staffing issues are probably Not going to go away, Until this virus becomes a minor issue. The way the numbers of those infected are rising, in recent weeks, I suspect things will get worse as the Summer progresses.

Many cities and States are already, or soon will be, reinstituting mask and distancing requirements. Covid related unemployment programs are soon going to be running out, and perhaps that will induce some to begin going back to work.

Anything resembling "normalcy" is not going to happen soon....until the vast majority of people recognize the severity of this virus, and do their part to help lower the statistics.

Shortages will get worse now that the "Don't Wear A Mask" Conspiracy buffs are getting crushed by the new Covid strain. They have dug their own graves-too bad.

We have food industry shortages too. The other night there was only one waitress in a busy Denny’s. She was a seasoned worker and got the job done. Hope her tips were really good.

The minimum wage in BC is $15.20, that includes servers.

I've never understood why some people refuse to wear a mask, unless it's due to a medical issue.

It's not 100% effective but does give some protection and not a big deal to wear them when out in the public..

Yes, uncomfortable, issues with fogging up glasses, but really???
Are those issues worth risking the virus?

I have had my 2 shots and when I go out again I will wear my mask. The Delta strain doesn't sound like anything to deal with after watching the news shows today. Also got word that a former boss's son got covid and spent 3 months in the hospital before he died last week. He was 62 and had not had the shots. He was out and about among folks in a small town that most did not wear masks. I hated to hear that as he left a family and his first grand child.

I find if I wear the disposable masks and not my cloth masks with or without filters.. that my specs don't steam up...

My husband wanted to open a restaurant (again) a few years before he died. He did open a take out joint in a part of town I hated to be in and it did fairly well but had closed before he died. I never worked in his store and never would have worked in a restaurant. It's a tough business. I haven't been to KFC in a few years but I always loved their coleslaw. Wish I had some right now.

Once the open border crossers are taught a little English and receive their shots, staffing will not be an issue. Current employees can expect a pay cut.

We don't eat too much fast food, but I haven't noticed any problems in my area with getting what we want. Our local pizzeria still has delivery and take out, just cut down on the tables inside for the customers. Our Mexican restaurant has take out and delivery, and eat in service now. Our chicken wing place, WingStop, has had delivery and take out, no problems. Even our favorite Chinese restaurant has been delivering to us all along, and has take out, not sure about eating in there, we never do.
