..is now facing a tribunal where he may face stricter punishment , after the General Medical Council deemed his punishment in 2018 as insufficient

Bramhall, who is in his 50s and was a transplant surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, was given a community order and fined £10,000 by a judge at Birmingham Crown Court in January 2018 after he admitted two counts of assault by beating.

He told police he used an argon beam machine to initial the organs to relieve operating theatre tensions following difficult and long transplant operations in 2013.

Mrs Justice Collins Rice was told that, in December 2020, a Medical Practitioners Tribunal imposed a five-month suspension on Bramhall's medical registration.

Lawyers representing the GMC said the sanction was 'insufficient to maintain public confidence' in the profession.

Wow! Makes you wonder what else goes on when you are unconscious.

I could go on but medical mistakes kill thousands yearly. This is why there will always be malpractice lawsuits. This is also why many want as a little to do with the medical industry as possible.

Also in the OP the extra unnecessary scar tissue can't be a good thing even though patient survived. I know people that lost blood flow due to surgical scar tissue.

We like to think of doctors as "Heroes," but most people are unaware of the fact that many doctors (and police officers) are drawn to the profession because they take pleasure in seeing people suffer. And they also enjoy causing suffering.

I met one dentist like that. After the 3rd time he intentionally caused me unnecessary pain, I got up in his face & told him, "You better leave & have your partner complete the root canal; otherwise, this will be your last day on earth."
His partner came in & said, "Why did he leave in the middle of your procedure & go home?" I explained it & he said, "Hmmmm, you're not the only patient who complained about him."

During one surgery, I woke up. Only my eyes and brain were functional, I couldn't move or speak. The surgeon had left the room! His "assistants", whoever they were, were just hanging around gabbing & joking with each other. I saw by the clock at least 20 minutes went by! Then, one of them saw my eyes open & said "Oh no, she's awake!" Then I wasn't. Scary feeling, being frozen like that.

I was having a simple gal bladder removal when the surgeon cut my liver. 🤦🏻‍♀️ He put out an ER call, a liver surgeon in the building came and took over the surgery, repaired my liver, and I woke up as an inpatient. Surprise! Let me introduce you to your liver surgeon.

I reported a dentist to the CA Dental Board. Their function is to provide an illusion of protecting patients, while they protect dentists.
The dentist wanted to sell me a $7,000.00 implant instead of replacing a very old bridge. He agreed that I could just have the bridge replaced without such an invasive procedure (which isn't a good idea for a diabetic, anyway.)
He was so disappointed at only making $3,000.00 instead of $7,000.00, he kept trying to convince me to get an implant while he was removing the old bridge. The bridge was 15 years old & the only reason it had to be removed was because a tooth under it needed a root canal.

He deliberately made the bridge too short, leaving a gap between the upper & lower molars so I couldn't chew on that side. He knew the bridge wouldn't work because he fitted it without cement first, but he cemented it anyway. When I complained, he said, "You should have listened to me & got the implant."
I had to wait one year to allow the area to heal completely before having another dentist re-do the bridge - chewing food on only the right side.
The Dental Board said, "Although the work was poorly done, we do not get involved unless a dentist commits a crime."

The dentist said it wasn't his fault because "my teeth shifted." And, of course he initially refused to give me a refund.
BUT, after I shopped for other dentists to re-do the bridge & they all asked me, "Who did that horrible bridge?" & I gave them his name, they contacted him. THEN, he realized his reputation was being ruined & he called me & had me come to his office & pick up a refund check for $3,000.00 & sign a waiver.

One of the most moronic posts ever done.

The degree of arrogance of such people leave a scar upon all those who work diligently to actually help humankind.
He's a disgrace to his profession.

Did you sue ?
Around here if you sue. The dang lawyers get 2/3s of whatever you got. Also, Indiana has a 750,000.00 cap on all winnings. Then you get 1/3 of what lawyers don't get. I've talked to too many people that have done it & they are so mad as they got just a small amount. Then the Dr's & hosp[itals don't want anything to do with you for suing a dr or Hospital.

Wow, I guess doctors are like the rest of the population. Some are stupid and a few do stupid things. However the consequences of doctors doing this are potentially worse. I would hope he gets jail time, and example needs to be set.

What were the consequences to the patient of this? Even if there were none I would want to see him in jail....
