Who likes sushi?

We’re meeting several of the grands at our favorite Sushi restaurant. The oldest is driving her boyfriend and siblings. I was actually surprised that they wanted to go to Sapporo rather than a restaurant that served American food.

Not everyone likes sushi. Do you??

I love Sushi especially the one with cream cheese and avocado inside. I'm not sure of the name but it could be the California roll.
I also like the one with a piece of shrimp on the top.
I can't eat to many of them. I find them all to be very filling but so delicious.

One of our daughters makes sushi....using fish (walleye) they have caught in their nearby lake. I like that, knowing where the fish came from. However, I would be a bit leery of eating ANY raw fish/seafood without knowing its source. After seeing some of the reports of "commercial" fish, and the conditions they are grown in, I Never eat any grocery store, or restaurant fish that isn't well cooked.

Right with you, never cared to try it and doubt I ever will. I don't mind smoked fish, just had some Honey Smoked Salmon for supper, but can't wrap my head around eating raw.
There's a lot of cooked sushi as well as raw sushi.
It's all clearly listed on the menu or you could stipulate when ordering that you only desire cooked sushi.
You'd be surprised how many people only consume the cooked versions.

Though I really enjoy sushi I’m careful where I get it. Like some of you I never buy it from the supermarket or any other place that sells it pre packaged. And I don’t bring leftovers home from the restaurant either (though it very seldom happens that there are any)

We’ve been going to the same sushi place for years and know everyone there. Imam is the head chef and he is a gifted Itamae. His sushi creations are amazing! He has a knack of combining different fish, veggies, cream cheese, fruits etc that is an absolute treat to the taste buds!

Often we won’t order a specific item, we’ll just tell him “surprise me” and add a detail or two,…feel like spicy, want something sweet, need lighter fare etc. He never disappoints!

I don't know if I like it or not because I can't bring myself to try it. And doubt I ever will.
Awww, come on now @Murrmurr ! Try a little vegetarian roll with a bit of cucumber in it.
I never eat raw fish or roe (allergies), but, love California roll.
Not in the sushi category, is, inarizushi or inari. Very different from sushi rolls, but tasty.
