Thanks Hollydolly, this was an interesting video. If nothing else it certainly points out the need for better more scientifically based decision making. I don't know how the FDA's approval process works, but as pointed out there is no reason to rush it. Even without approval the vaccine has been available here.
I did watch the whole video and went to the BMJ website and read the whole opinion piece. Dhand did report pretty accurately what it said. Also read some of the BMJ research and other articles. The one Dhand reported on was the most negative on the vaccine I could find, other articles reported more success. See:

It looks to me like the BMJ is doing a better job of reporting, in a balanced way, good scientific information. Wish the US FDA and CDC would do as well.
I do think people ought to get vaccinated, and I believe the vaccine is a good thing. I believe the primary obstacle to getting people vaccinated is dissemination of good information. This vaccine is new and experimental, to expect anything like 100% effectiveness at this point is unrealistic. I get the flu vaccine every year and don't expect more than a 50% or 60% effectiveness.
It will take years for us to really understand the effectiveness of the vaccine, and the vaccine will likely have to be updated with regular boosters to be most effective. That is the case with other vaccines. What matters most right now is good evidence that the benefits of the vaccine out weigh the risks. Or not, if it doesn't. Either way we need to know.
