Trash not picked up this week

And not just me... I can see my neighbors bins still out by the roadside waiting for pick-up. I've called twice and whoever answers doesn't seem to know what's going on - very frustrating. You'd think they'd know if a pick up was missed. All I get is, "We'll let them know."

Our bins never get emptied at the same time each week.. sometimes they're here at 8am, other times it'll be closer to 4pm....today was our recycle bin day ( 2 bins).. and they were emptied around 9am

I'm sure they want your money as much as they want your trash and they will get to you as soon as they are able.

i really don't miss the one price for all households 'Waste collection' charge on city water/sewer bill as it was in most cities where i've lived. Since we have to take our trash to a collection center on edge of town (it gets hauled down to City in huge bins), we pay by the amount of trash we're taking each time Half dollar per large bag (the 30-40 gal heavy black ones) or if taking a truck load of bags, boxes, small broken household appliances---$6.00. Because we recycle and flatten everything that can be (or fill some things with other garbage so no space in bag wasted), We fill a 40 gal bag maybe every 10 days. That's $1.50 a month compared to $20 and larger fees in some cities.

Was your area affected by Ida? Is there a flood warning? They would have to wait for that to be lifted.

Your area must not have concerns of wildlife, big or small, ripping it up. Our cans aren’t bear proof. Garbage/recycling can’t be put out until 7 a.m.

We had a regular size trash can until they replaced them with ones for use with the automatic arms. In one breath the city says they‘re want us to reduce and then they gave out cans that are three times as large.
 
Where my daughter lives, the trash & recycling are picked up weekly in the summer (~May through Sept). In the rest of the season, trash is bi-weekly and recycling weekly. 1 can for trash and 2 blue bins for recycling.
 
Trash here is collected Bi-weekly...and the 2 recycling bins are collected also b-weekly but on the alternate week... so in Essence we get some type of trash collected every Wednesday .

In Spain where I have a home, the Trash, is collected every single night 7 days a week...in winter they start around 2am..and work until they finish... in summer during the hot tourist season, they start earlier, around 10pm because there's so much more trash to collect...and they move like lightening too..

When I first moved to Spain I thought I'd never sleep through the noise of the trucks and the bins being wheeled at 2 in the morning.. but after a while I got used to it, and slept through it...
